Mitch, why?

Image

He jumps on two shows to say stupid and unfunny stuff. Always pissy. Loves to join Bernstein to rip on others at the station when he's the station's true idiot. You bill yourself as "The smart station". If so, you can't have drinky speak on the air. Will you please tell him to shut up? For the love of God, Mitch, he makes fart noises to make Ranger laugh during updates. This was really once your "Rising star".

I guess my point is hire some people who are trained journalists, or at least have an idea of what it means to be a reporter, rather than people who have been trained to turn knobs and dials.

You have three main jobs IMO:

1. Radio personalities: the guys paid to entertain me. I don't care what their background is, just entertain me. Dahl/North/Stern types. Preferably not radio exclusively.
2. Producers/engineers/whatever: guys that make things work behind the scene. There is no reason really ever to hear these guys. That is not their job
3. Reporters/Journalists: guys that generate interesting information. pretty self-explanatory.

Problem is when you get people moving around from one job category to another. most of the time they suck at it!!

Mac, you are the exception! Moved from producer to personality. Who else ever really succeeded at this?

Do you spend time listening to other sports talkers in smaller markets in search of the next big thing?

Why won't you put Elliott Harris and my show on the air. We draw more listeners than most of your weekend shows.

David,

How do you know that you have more listeners?

Why don't you buy the time from the station like others have done?

Mitch,

1.) I echo Darkside's thoughts about Bob in Niles. It really would be nice to hear your thoughts on the matter.

2.) Matt Abbatacola was once thought to be a rising star at the station and seemed to be the #1 sub on all the shows. It seems like his voice has been significantly diminished in that capacity, which I applaud. Was this management's decision? Also, does it bother you that he sounds like such a bitter, unfunny hack during all his updates?

3.) The Finfer and Laurence show. Make it happen.

Mitch,

What is your relationship with Laurence Holmes? Are/were you his agent? You must feel he has some talent. Explain to me your reasoning for his continued on air existence. Describe the nature of his talent and what he brings to the table.

He is trying to run the station not destroy it.

Mitch, a wise Ditka once told me that the key to success is talent and experience.

Do you know anyone who has both?

I'll post the same question I put in bigfan's thread. He pruned it there, we'll see if he prunes it here. I think it is absolutely legit.

Mitch,

So, Mike Mulligan. Yeah he is your morning guy and the ratings have been good, but see here is what i don't understand. When he asks a question a lot of times he just kind of rambles on and on and on and you really don't know what his point is, or exactly where the question is going, then SOMETIMES HE SCREAMS something! Then just when you think he has a point, he sort of answers the original question all on his own. Does he know he doing this? Is it just a bad habit? Does he think its a good form of questioning a guest? I mean, whats the reason behind it? What is going on there?

Honestly though...can Mully just ask a quick question without rambling for 45 seconds?

This.

Mitch, is the reason you aren't actively posting on the board because it's for the most part a bunch of anonymous ass bags who wouldn't dare as you questions like they have written here to your face? :D

Mitch, if you keep Mac after July, can you rename the show the Mac and Grimace show? I think it will benefit everybody involved.

Mitch,

I knew that Les's show was shit, but never thought that he would actually take a shit in the studio.
How do you feel about radio show hosts who take a dump in your studio?
Did you have Service master or someone come in & clean the place up?
