As much as I enjoyed my Hopslam last night, it's KBS week. Keep your focus. It hits some stores today.

I don't like stouts, but I picked up a KBS for my step-bro today. He can enjoy it when he's out of the Navy later this year.

I don't think they get much out here. I just recently started seeing some of the Midwestern beers out here besides the national ones. I'm just happy Two Brothers is here.

I guess I'll have to go searching for it next time I'm in the flyover states.

I'm not really a stout guy. I definitely stick with the IPAs.

What's the best IPA board members have tried?

This is my favorite. I'm pretty much all IPAs, too.

These are DIPAs but Two Brothers Hop Centric and this guy are my recent favorites -

http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/147/82250/

Unfortunately, I don't think either are available at the moment. Hop Centric in June. But Double Bastard is a nice substitute at the moment.

I had a Three Floyd's Dreadknaught last week and that's right there, too.

Thanks, Dr. I think one of the stores by my abode as the Stone Ruin Ten. I'll give it a whirl. In general, I find Stone's offerings to be inconsistent.

I'm a bigfan of Stone but I stick mainly with their IPA/DIPA stuff.

Arrogant
Double Bastard
RuinTen

I'm always glad to see one of those at a bar/restaurant when I'm out. Plus, pretty affordable compared to Three Floyd's.

I put Lagunitas in that category as well just a notch below. I expect to see a saturation in the Chicago market of Lagunitas now that they are finishing up the 250,000 barrel facility on the west side. I think it has already begun.

I don't believe so. I guess I didn't make that clear enough. Sorry, greg.

Double Bastard is still available though. I enjoy that just as much.

I've also been enjoying Decadent IPA from Ska out of Colorado. It isn't nearly rated like the others if you look it up but I enjoy it.

Decadent has the wax top, right? I was just eh on that. I remembered RuinTen as being out in July-August. Damn, got my hopes up. I'm actually going to Stone later this month. I'll tell them to chip chop chip on the 2014 RuinTen.

Yeah, wax top that is a pain in the ass to open. But, it looks cool.

Also, it is more affordable than the Pipeworks stuff that is all over the shelves. That one and the Hop Henge IPA from Deschutes are my standard in recent weeks to just have a couple in the fridge for whatever. Plus the Deschutes is about $5.50/per. That's a good beer. Better than the Decadent for sure.

Alesmith IPA is probably the best IPA I've ever had.

Westvleteren 12 and it's cousin St. Bernardus are also high on my list.

But if I had to drink one beer for the rest of my life? Probably a geuze. Don't really care who from.

Hop Centric is great. West Coast should have them keep the Hop Juice name

My area is getting them on Thursday. River Grove Binny's is gonna be a 1 bottle limit. Not sure on the others. Need to find some hole in the wall that's getting some and snag it.

Interesting choice. Sours usually don't top that "rest of life" list. Although they are catching on more lately. I expect to see quite a few offerings this summer from local breweries (like Lake Effect's Session Brett - cheap plug). Do you like more of the tartness or more of the "horse blanket" flavor? Personally I have a hard time if it is too barnyard-y.

As far as IPA I would put AntiHero up with any of them. I could drink that beer every day (I usually do). For me it is the most balanced with big citrus flavors.

I like the versatility of a geuze. Like you said, some can be tart which is nice on hot days, some can be funky if you're looking for complexity, and they are low in alcohol content (relatively speaking) so you can enjoy more than one in a sitting.

For a long time I was all about barrel aged this and that, and while I still enjoy them on occasion and while many are out of this world amazing but I don't crave them like I do with sour and wild beers.

Find a store that carries Firestone in an area where you don't think it's exactly full of craft beer guys. There is still Parabola out there.

Been drinking a lot of good beer the last few weeks. Some highlights:

Was in SD and was able to get to the Ballast Point tap room, they had an awesome barleywine that is only available at the taproom that was mind blowing - Three Sheets. Nice mix of sweet and hoppy. Also enjoyed their Habanero Sculpin - starts off just like Sculpin and then the heat kicks in. Very interesting and awfully tasty!

This weekend, we did some Zombie Dust (for the win), Wookey Jack, Dreadnaught at a party.
