This is what is being said ,maybe right or wrong

1 Multiple shooters,active

Sirens going off and people being told to lock themselves in place
Local hospitals being informed to expect casualties
FBI and local police on the way.

I gotta ask Ft Hood has a ton of um what do you call them soldiers. Why not have I don't know an MP unit or two on the base?

How much down/free time did you guys have o average?
Did you do any of the traditional soldier stuff like policing the area,cleaning and standing watch?

We had a lot of down time chas. Most of weeks we only worked M-F. Work day ended usually at 5 pm. We did a shitload of cleaning and building/vehicle maintenance. The policing is done by MPs, and yes of course Ft Hood has an MP unit.

I thought I had read that at most bases they farmed out main gate security and so forth to private security rather than MP units?

The guys at Great Lakes are Navy. Unless they somehow are giving out uniforms with rank insignia to civilians now.

Yeah, at Ft Polk and most other Army bases they hire private contractors for gate security. Makes no fucking sense to me, but most government spending doesn't.

No problem. I'm going through the gates there at least once a week, so just relaying what I deal with. That's also the reason why I wanted to punch some idiot NBC had on talking about access to the base and "counterfeiting the credentials for civilians". Mine is right here in my work bag.
