i've noticed this trend in modern comedy and it really gets to me. breaking character for the 4th wall while still delivering in the same voice irritates me. it's very "family guy" like. just deliver the material...(i.e. "seriously?" etc.) just kills the joke. the edits take care of it...yeah we do get it, we're laughing...stop spoiling it with the self aware commentary.
