Theo would be pissed. Not part of the plan. Lose 100 games in the 3rd largest market in the country for six years in a row and then spend some money is a fool-proof plan.

6 years.

look at the low expectation having Cubs fan cheering a 1-5 night with 2 LOB. Would you like me to start an "Adam Dunn is back" thread because of his walk off walk/passed ball?

I'm not trolling here, I promise, but that's not part of the plan. The Cubs have to save that extra year of ML service time, apparently. That's why I think there's legitimate criticism to be had towards Theo. If there wasn't, then Baez would've been in the lineup today.

Agreed. I'm so sick of this service time shit. The Angels paid Trout even though they didn't have to.

Fuck Ricketts and Theo.

Actually the Angels held back Trout for service time reasons and probably missed the playoffs because of it.

from a tax payer standpoint it is particularly frustrating. In six years they have projected that they will have enough revenue to match anyone based partially on acquiring public entitlements. Yet here we sit nickel and diming.

and let me tell you from a guy who knows what he is talking about, the "wait until after court is resolved" is a poorly thought out plan. You have your entitlements. Build the scoreboard. The rooftops will try to get an emergency TRO, which will lose. Then this thing will drag for a minimum of 18 months but probably longer. Meanwhile you have 18 months of revenue. Then when it's time for the matter to finally go before a judge, I trust that the elected jurists of this county will not have the balls to rule that a project that has been in place for almost two years and is supported by the mayor and that now has a history of not significantly diminishing values must be torn down. That's really basic opinion in this field and I am surprised they are not getting better consultation. On the other hand, they most likely are getting the consultation and not acting on it for other reasons.

Average lefty on the mound with Wandy. If Rizzo gives another piss poor Liriano effort then worry is valid. I wish Castro was benched. He's a cancer.

It's not raining yet but the pirates are stalling like its their job right now to not get past 5. Snyder had about 30 seconds of time outs between each pitch there.

Takes a special piece of crap to make the Cubs' regular road uniform look good. The Big Lots alternate is that special piece.

Not that I'm one to slavishly follow traditions, but your road grey uni should always have your city.

I agree, especially in an age where those cities are paying for your brand-new pleasure palaces. The Brewers' current road uniforms don't say "Milwaukee" because they don't want to alienate people in, for instance, La Crosse, who are Twins fans half the time anyway.

I also think hats should reflect the city name and not the nickname. The only exception I'll make is the Toronto Blue Jays, because they're foreign and weird.

Two extra in inning losses and a win. No reason for optimism!! Fire Theo. The plan is a failure
