Dan will make sure you know tonight's game is one that smart fans will appreciate. NBA talent all over the floor. If you would rather see the "try hard" teams (white), then you're dumb.

It's true. I would much rather watch these guys averaging 5.6 PPG for the Nuggets, rather than shine on the national stage.

SNL made fun of white basketball with a fake "ad" saturday night for "Best of White Basketball" DVD, kinda funny

 every time Dan or Terry criticize someone who stutters and doesn't make a point.

Terry sounds sooooo sincere when encouraging people to register to run for for Bernsteins tax write off......I mean charity.

Looks like Sox games aren't to blame for the lack of activity in the show threads.

You can mark Baez and Bryant down for 30 homers each every year, even though Terry has never seen them. But Abreu won't hit 30. I'm bookmarking this for future use. Oh, and I'm still waiting for Prior to win 28 games in a season. Maybe Terry meant 28 for his career.

Don't forget "you're an idiot if you weren't watching every second of every SEC game last fall."

I didn't get it either Jorr. The way people are saying he gets the bat on the ball I assume 30 by accident. Sort of the way Frank did it. Make contact and see it go. And before anyone jumps in I am not comparing him to Frank at all other than contact homers are possible.

The only way he doesn't get 30 is if he doesn't get enough at-bats for some reason. And then dumbass Terry just made up shit. "Most scouts think he won't." Idiotic and false.

I wonder when was the last time that Terry actually spoke to a scout or read a scouts reports or read an article about a scouts reports or watched a full game or overheard someone talking about a scouts report or whatever.

College athletic revenues > NBA+NHL revenues

These two lack any critical eyes at all. Absolutely re-taaaahded.

Nice. Read an article that praises Durant (and lets Danny hedge) but still blows Lebron.

I think I heard them talk about tonight's game for 15 seconds, while important topics like how bad of guys Coach K and Boeheim are, and how people returning to college for their sophomore season are idiots got many minutes of airtime.

Pretty much sums it up. And how much he has come around on Tark the Shark and Calliperi is ok now.

I wonder how many more forfeited Final Four appearances it would take for Dan to do a second 180 of Calipari?

my math is a bit rusty, but as of right now i believe that jose abreu is on a blistering pace for 0HR this season. and why are you lowballing baez and bryant? the former, by comparison, will make 30/30 look like one of those late 70s pong-only video game systems compared to a playstation 3 ---- and kris bryant? why comeon JORR.... we both know he's hit no less than 2 or 3 balls that still haven't landed yet. i'm thinking roughly 45-55HR/year from ages 25-35, and that's with the assumption that MLB makes rule changes to stymie his dominance at the plate.

there was bear bryant. there is cub bryant. there is legend. adjust your expectations thusly.

rule #1 of this show = dan is always right
rule #2 of this show = if dan is ever wrong, then a) see rule #1 and know that you need to listen more/closely and b) in the immortal words of david "father of the year" aka "kap" kaplan: "thanks for listening"

dude, these guys won the fucking life lottery in getting hooked up with posh bullshit jobs that don't require any sort of thought/skill/effort. dan has reconciled the fact that he didn't live up to the stereotypically-jewish-high-expectations of doing something that MAKES. A. DIFFERENCE. in the world -- like being a doctor, lawyer, astrophysicist, etc -- by shoehorning in as much "social justice" crap alongside a so-completely-blind-you-could-ironically-call-it-faithlike embracing of newschool statistical analyses of sports so he can impart some "wisdom" on the listeners, as gentrifying the minds of his flock, erm, audience is the consolation prize for not having a real job that MAKES. A. DIFFERENCE.

terry, on the other hand, realized what the game was a loooooooooong time ago and is at peace with cashing his checks while dan runs around trying to convince himself that he's doing some form of the lord's work by gentrifying the minds of his audience. the dude's gotta be six figures to hang out and say yeah, which is bonafide "god bless ya terry" territory, so he's basically along for the ride whether he's there in person or whether there's a brown paper bag with a smiley face labeled "TERRY" occupying the 2nd chair in the studio because he's literally phoning it in from the excellence in diddling studios down in mokena.

so yeah, when you are able to take a step back from the whole spectacle and see the show for what it is, shit..... comeon kirkwood, who wants to fuck up the gravy train by having to put in all kinds of mad crazy effort to actually know what you're talking about? they're celebrated as being the longest running show in chicago sports talk radio not because they were always some otherworldly-awesome amazing super-show that destroyed any so-called competition in their wake and therefore it was inevitable that this chicago radio institution was going to give the gods a run for their money in the longevity department--- but merely because they're there. well and technically they're not ESPN1000 because who the hell listens to that?

it's endemic to our contemporary massmedia-installed culture to exalt anyone who is simply there for any significant period of time. and whether you love 'em or hate 'em..... i'll be damned if boers and bernstein aren't there in the same exact way that jay leno was there from 1992-2014. jay leno's (second) departure was made to be some big giant culturally-relevant event simply because the guy was there for the better part of 22 years, not because anyone actually liked him all that much or thought he was doing something great with the format.

i mean for fuck's sake i reckon someday there's going to be fond memories of "the matt abbatacola era" of the b&b show, and are you gonna tell me that he really did anything to warrant being the namesake of an era, or is it just gonna be another case of "you have to respect him because he's there" ??? c'est la vie.

I think the days of being unchallenged are coming to a close.

Dan has to get his shots in now before the real competition finds itself. I'm hoping 87.7 gets McNeil and puts him on opposite B&B.

When was the last time you heard a Score host between 9-6 say "well, I was at the game yesterday"?

If all of these guys were really dedicated to their jobs they would be at games occasionally, in locker rooms, on phone lines to create a network of insider connections and spending at least an hour in production each day.

It is pretty much just a 4 hour shift and go home.

Speigel used to go to plenty of games but his kid probably slowed that down. Mac will go to Hawks games and once in awhile a Sox game if the ticket is good enough and he has a limo to drop him off and take him home after the fifth inning. bernstein will go if he gets free tickets, free food, a jersey and autographs for his kid, and the coach and GM come down and shake Jason's hand. Terry never goes anywhere except Stoney Point Grill OTB.

Here you go. I texted in because all I heard was them taking joy in the fact that Coach K and the other "bad guys" aren't in the title game, rather than focus on the actual basketball over the weekend.

RSG: Are you going to discuss how great the Saturday games were? Or is it going to be a constant bitchfest?
Danny: We'll do whatever we want. Either listen or don't. Nobody cares what you think or do, either way.
RSG: I'm aware. I enjoy the show, but it's so god damn negative at times, when there is plenty of content to discuss.
Danny: No need to text, then. If your radio isn't broken, act accordingly.
RSG: Get the stick out of your ass.
Danny: One more insipid, witless text and you're blocked.
RSG: Anything but that!

So I may or may not be #blocked.

I'd like to think if I was making 6 figures talking about sports for a living I'd at least make an attempt to watch the games live.

I thought Mac mentioned a few weeks ago that they weren't able to block texts any longer and then said "oh, maybe we aren't supposed to talk about that" or maybe it was Spiegel.

I'm going to guess that's true or greg would have been blocked after text #2.

I'd expect plenty more Coach K bashing today given Calipari's post-game interview where he took full responsibility for the team losing and saying he "didn't give them enough" to win the game. 3 hours.

If you actually walked up to him and belted him the fucking mouth at a remote. And he Alerted. The. Authorities! I think there is a good chance the Authorities might congratulate you on a job well done if you showed them that exchange. What a little Caller Bob that guy is. And I can't think of a better word.
