Leonard Cohen: greatest Montrealer ever or GREATEST Montrealer ever?

A much less venerable group of Montrealers in town for the last home game of a disappointing season. Habs are good but not great, much like the Hawks, though at least the Hawks have multiple players who can play a physical game. The Habs are the only team from Canada to make the playoffs, and go figure, not only are they the team in the French-speaking province no one else likes, theirs is also a roster that's super-heavy on Americans, Eastern Europeans, and a black guy. (And don't think this roster management doesn't bother the living shit out of Quebec, no matter how much they profess that Saku Koivu is as much a legend as anyone else. They're lying through their nicotine-stained teeth, and he isn't anyway.)

Lazerus reporting that Teravainen is already feeling jerked around and mistreated. What's Finnish for "redshirt"? Google says it's "punainen paita," but you'll forgive me if I think that sounds a little dirty and never want to say it again. Anyway, Teravainen looks like a little kid out there. Play him tonight and/or the last game with the Perds as a reward for being a good soldier about this, and then make him come back not looking like such a little kid.

Not a meaningless game for the Habs, who have the Bolts on their heels for second place. Mathematically, the Hawks can finish in second place, but probably won't. Still, I expect Morin and Nordstrom to keep dancing on their hind legs in hopes that Q will notice and play them ahead of Michal Handzus when Toews and Kane come back. Let's hope Saad isn't a healthy scratch again. That gave me pause.

I wish Bryan Bickell were Max Pacioretty.

Q treats Morin like he did Pirri. But for the injuries, Morin wouldn't be here (ever). But at least Morin is making the most of it, so Bowman will be able to get something for him with the inevitable trade.

The papers (including the Roz man) seem to think the Hawks have cured their ills and are playing great. Frankly, they are still giving up weird goals (early and late period) and breakaways. They are playing better, but let's not forget they won one game with a few seconds left (not exactly a dominant victory) and another in a shootout after they gave up the lead late. They played well against the Blues, so I'll give them credit for that.

The difference between Morin and Pirri is that Morin does do all the things that you (and Q) would want a third-line wing to do. He's okay on defense, he checks, he gets to the net. I hope they don't give up on him just yet. It seems like he's been getting jerked around forever (and he kinda has, this is his fourth year of cups of coffee), but he's still only 22 now, turning 23 in a week or two. It's not unheard of for a checking winger to take a few years to develop. Troy Brouwer didn't stick with the big-league roster until 23 or 24, and he was good for a while. Major-league bitch, though. Look how long Ben Smith took.

Price, Markov, Emelin (there's a phantom 'Y' in front of the first 'E'), Prust, Moen, and Murray are all scratched. That leaves Subban, Patches, and not a whole hell of a lot else. GOOD QUALITY ORIGINAL SIX BATTLE HERE.

That's all the French Jim Kornhole knows

It's nice to see Crawford playing well. Feels like we are getting our ass kicked even though it's scoreless and the shots have been roughly equal.

At least it looks like the Hawks finally woke up. Can't believe one of those didn't get in.

Agree, Hossa is a monster holding those pucks.

In other news, Foley continues to blow his load on Crow saves and suck the dick of every Hawks employee. I love the 5 minute love fest with the video guy.

Yeah the call on that save was a little disconcerting. It seemed like a good save, but he reacted like the Hawks just won their 3rd Cup.

Then the replay shows Crow barely got it, almost by accident.

Zeus makes a great play finally by winning that draw. You gotta win those with the net empty.

Ugly win but I'll take it. Great to see wins without the big two stars.

Sharpy assists on the tying goal, gets the game-winner, but does not rate a star? BOOLSHIT!
