If he's near .300 by the AllStar break, trade him.

Tonight 1-2. Season .323

Why? If you played shortstop for the rest of the season it wouldn't really make a difference.

True. Looking toward the future I want him to be prepared for ML pitching.

He could kick the shit out of Renteria everyday if he plays like an MVP candidate.

Baez had a heated exchange not a fight

Nas, he's had a .340ish obp thru his career, he's not Castro/Patterson

He walked 40 times in 130 games last year, that's fine

I don't know why people are surprised that Starlin is back. He is a proven quantity.

That isn't enough times for a power hitter. IIRC he didn't have a walk this spring.

Its not an issue. He can improve but not everyone is going to be Frank Thomas or Mike Trout.

I mean you make it seem like he's Patterson or Pie.

The patience will come but he's fine overall with his obp

Korey put up similar numbers but ultimately not being patient at the plate cost him.

Why would you trade him? You won't get top dollar for him because of last year and he has star potential with being locked up with a very generous contract for a premium position. No, you don't trade Castro as this point. If you where going to trade him you should have done it 2 seasons ago, where the prospects you would have received would have been at the highest value and be ready for 2015-2016 with the rest of their prospects. Trading him now will only set you back and mess up your "plan".

OPS is .741

More in line with the early good Castro than last year

I think he'll end up being in the middle of the two (like he was in 2012)

.280 BA 15-20 HR

Good for a SS
