A lot of times the parents are in denial even though it's clear to everyone else. IMO that's unfair to the kids. Even if bullying has been an issue it's something that should be dealt with and not laughed at or dismissed.

It is a tough thing, but if the administration knows something is going on and they do nothing about it, should they be held responsible?

What is the Canadian gun situation?

They politely ask if they can shoot you before doing so.

That's a tough question. It depends on how long they were aware of an issue and what they did about it. Most of time the bullying was going on for a long period of time and teachers and the administration were aware of it and no steps were taken to put an end to it. I try to teach my kids to not participate in situations like that. It's easy for a kid to join in on the bullying because it make them feel like they are apart of the "in" crowd.

Regardless of where you fall on gun control, I don’t understand why it's hard to admit that guns are more dangerous than knives or any other common type of weapon. Of course a gun makes it easier to kill a bunch of people fast than a knife does. Admitting this doesn't mean that you are in favor of gun control.

Whatever, you communist. The 2nd amendment says that I can have as many guns as I want. If you don't like it, move to Iranistan.

OK. Guns are more dangerous than knives. You can kill a lot more people with castor beans than you can an ak47 though. I don't understand the relevance of the more dangerous game.

It's not a means to any end. That doesn't mean we should ignore reality. To say that a gun doesn't make it easier for a murderer to carry out a murder is patently false. We must agree on certain facts before any discussion can even take place.

Mental illness is a major problem? Murdering innocent people and kids is bad?

I think our government would have an issue if we could eliminate all murders.

There's probably no less than 10 posters here that would read that and think you're making a valid point.

People don't pay enough attention to their kids, deny the obvious, can't deal, or think their kids are great.

It's not false. It's easy to murder with or without a gun. I don't believe for a second that a gun makes it easier at all.

So if I go into a room of 20 people capable of fighting back, I could just as easily kill all 20 with a knife as I could with a gun?

Of course a gun makes it easier to kill people. That's the main reason they are used for self defense.

Oh were just comparing knives to guns? Come to think of it a couple guys with knives killed 3000 or more on 9/11

The question is whether a gun makes it easier to kill people. It's not a question of whether it's possible to kill people in other ways. If I up and decided to go kill my neighbor right now in a fit of rage, a gun would make it much easier than any other items I possess, correct?

Again, I'm not even commenting on gun control. I'm just trying to agree on facts.

I think it would be just as easy to stab a guy in the throat as it would be to shoot him. I guess it's the movies that do this to us but a gunshot isn't a sure kill.
It's easier to kill a room full of people with a pipe bomb than a gun. It's easier with a gun than a knife.
I guess I don't see what your point is.

It's a lot easier to operate a gun than it is to make a pipe bomb. It's also a lot easier to kill someone who is capable of fighting back with a gun than a pipe bomb or knife.

I would disagree. I can make a pipe bomb with parts from any hardware store. Can't just run out and obtain a gun. You can just run out and make a pipe bomb.
Secondly, whats the point of what's easier? A motivated person can commit mass murder with any manner or weaponry. Ever take an improvised weapons class?
What difference does it make what's easiest? Seems like a real strawman to me

This argument keeps evolving I've noticed too. First it's easier to commit murder with a gun. That's not necessarily true so then it becomes it's easier to murder a room full of people. But that's not exactly true then it becomes it's easier to murder people capable of fighting back, ie armed people.
Look if you're willing to murder a bunch of people you're gonna get it done with what you can. A bomb a poison a gun a knife whatever. Easy isn't really the problem here. It's why is someone so willing to murder a bunch of people not what tool will he use.
