Well well, what a fun little ordeal this is.

today i was told i was resigning. yes, told. My "manager" completely botched a job, repeatedly, and ends up putting the blame on me because i "was supposed to know the job couldn't be done in 2 days and i should have told him from the get go".

this job was scheduled to start april 1st. We did not get sent out there until april 8th, and the completion date was the 10th. On the 8th, we were told the wire wasn't delivered yet, but do what we could with what we had. We did not even have enough boxes to hang because the manager thought there was 50 in a carton when there was only 25. We also did not have the code-approved fasteners to hang the wire.

79 speakers to install across two floors in a brand new finished US attorneys office. 2 guys on two 10 hours days we were given to start and finish the job, without the parts needed to finish, and it's my fault that i couldn't come in on zero hours notice to finish it on overtime hours. We also were pulled off this job for 8 hours yesterday to go work on another job that isn't even time pressing. the manager had no answer to that when i mentioned that to him, only that he "would not take attitude from me like that". he finally changed course and said "are you comming in tomorrow or not?" I said i have my 40 hours in for the week, we agreed in the past i cannot change my schedule on short notice and that was fine. so, no, i will not be working tomorrow. "ok, see you monday" he says.

20 minutes later he calls me back. "i thought about what i said to you, and if you don't come in tomorrow I will consider it your resignation".

i laughed. "youre being serious aren't you?". "yes" he says. I said "I will see you monday. That is not a resignation". and he just hung up on me.

This guy really fucked up. I have been their top performer and havent missed an hour of work since I have been there. This guy doesn't sign the paychecks either, and he just gave me 100% clearance to go right over his head. he really fucked up, and the best part is i have no reason not to pull my notes that i have been taking of his mistakes these past couple months. he does not know i already landed a new job, so whatever happens on monday when I talk to the owner is not going to effect me, it can only hurt him. this is the absolute worst manager i have ever known in my life, and everything i know that he does will be explained to his boss, including his closet day drinking on the job. stay tuned, this is comical stuff.

i remember some of the stories you told me big. i believe you. my "manager" is nowhere near smart enough to even get to that level. yours was an absolute pile of shit. mine i think is way too dumb to even realize what he is doing. like i said, its fine though. i have had one foot out this door the first week i got here, and now i have a backup plan already settled before i even drop this hammer. mouse trap me if you will, but i have nothing to lose.

yes. did hvac control work for over 2.5 years full time. i also have 5 years of ac/dc theory classroom through the NJATC and worked on broadcast video equipment for a year repairing the circuit boards. thats all on top of 8 years of full scale residential wiring. the only electrical stuff i would not be too familiar with is anything over 3 phase 480v stuff... so dont ask me to climb 5kv power poles and know everything about them, but even then thats not rocket science.

my new gig will be product development. i am becoming partners with someone who creates products and innovations, writes the patents and then has his factories produce the products for sale. beyond excited for this one, and i completely lowballed myself when talking about income. it really does appear i will be making a salary that dwarfs anything i have made before... but we will see. i am a very skeptical person with everything in life, just because i have run into so many bad situations in the past. but this has been a 3 month long interview, and i have yet to see any red flags. the guy has even been showing me some of his products that aren't even patented yet, because hes confident i am not the type of guy who would steal an idea like that. also because i showed him my ideas that aren't patented yet, of which he wants to help me produce. again, VERY excited about this guy!

dont worry chus. i am going to purchase this forum from big someday to the tune of $10k, with the clause that he is still invincible here. aside from that, i will start a rating system that is run entirely by me and every time chaspoop posts something stupid he will get knocked down a few points. after -1000 you get "loser" status, and we can have a pool on how quickly he gets there.
