The Hawks have:

Montreal, @ Crapitals, @ Preds. As always, don't like the matchup with the fucking Preds.

Avs, OTOH have: Pens (today), @ Oilers, @Nucks, @ Sharks, @ Ducks

While the Avs have a game-in-hand, I can see them losing three-of-these-five more than the Hawks losing two-of-three. Assuming the Hawks can hold on and win today (Blues), there is still some hope of leapfrogging into home ice. :meatball:

Thanks, Pens, for blowing the two-goal lead in the third

Well, it's academic, but will it be the Blues instead? :D If so, I like it to start with...

They'll beat either team they face. Can't believe St Lou is spitting the bit despite having the great Ryan Miller tend the nets.

Well CH disagreed with me when I said it, but I have zero faith in Miller. I think he is pretty average. CH thought he was good but just buried behind a crappy team before coming over. He is Luongo to me, meaning he will wet the bed in crunch time.

its easy to play when there's no expectations . Sure tatanka was bad in front of him but he also had no pressure to perform. Now he's on a team expected to contend for the Cup.We'll see how he handles it. They're gagging away top seed a!ready.

Cmon Gay you know every year we are supposed to be afraid of the great <fill in the flavor of the season> goalie in our conf. Sure the one year Phoenix got us but mostly we give them the Luongo treatment in the playoffs.

There's literally nothing to fear when it comes to Ryan Miller.

Semyon Varlamov on the other hand...

That has been true this year.

Prior to last night's game, I noticed that the Hawks have scored more aggregate goals than the Av's and given up less. Head to head with the Av's, the Hawks have been bad, but overall, the Hawks have done a better job with a wider average margin of victory.

I am hoping the regular season was just a case of the Hawks not being terribly interested. I still think it's tough to beat them four out of seven times. My biggest worries are the poor power play and goalie differential. It seems like we have to out shoot our opponents by a wide margin to win games.

I touched on that earlier in the season. It seems the Hawks give up more soft and bad angle goals than anyone but never seem to score any. I believe the Hawks out shot the Avs by a wide margin this year head to head.
