My go-to streaming classical station, KUSC is doing a composer tournament. Vote now! I'm pulling for Tchaikovsky, but he'll have a tough matchup vis-a-vis Bach. I just hope Mozart doesn't take it all.

Bullshit that Bartok did not make the cut.

Hopefully Stravinsky will beat the piss out of Vivaldi.

Awesome.

I think Stravinsky should win. And where's your loyalty to WFMT, Hatchetman?

Better hosts, particularly the morning guy, better music, just better all around. As you can see from this tourney, just more fun in general. WFMT sucks IMO.

Ouch man. Apparently we didn't bond enough during the most recent Chicago Chapter of the ISÖP soiree.

Yeah, WFMT generally takes itself too seriously for this kind of levity. And that's fine; the world needs WFMT. It's not supposed to be for everyone.

By the way, I will happily pick Vaughan Williams over Bach in the first round. I absolutely love "The Lark Ascending."

Wagner-Brahms and Tchaikovsky-Mahler in the first round is some NCAA tournament committee level bullshit. The same goes for the very presence of Copland and Gershwin. I'm shocked Vivaldi didn't make it further; it's still dumb he beat Stravisnky, but The Four Seasons is always stupidly high whenever classical stations do lists of listener favorites.
