Another rate hike requested.

Yes, they got a Rate hike for 2014, need one for 2015.

A company that big going year to year, is the culmination of political crap. State Reps tell them to ask every year and sometimes they will be able to help them out, sometimes they wont.

Next time one of those people knock on your door and ask to see your bill you may want to invite them in.

Make them offer you a low fixed rate or kill them/put them out. I signed up with a guy I went to church with a couple years ago for a variable rate. For the first few months I could see the savings and I believe they gave me a $50 gift card but after that it was downhill. Fortunately I didn't sign a contract and I ended up getting a 4% fixed rate when I called to cancel my service after a couple of months. I swapped a lot of my gas appliances for electric about 5 years ago (IDIOT) so I need to save as much as possible.

I have a wife & youngest son that have no care or concern for leaving lights/tvs/on and every damned charger plugged in (but not to the phone/computer/etc.). Of course she's long had the nerve to be irritated by my practice of turning lights/tvs/games off when no one is in the room with them on. (I feel like my dad bitching and moaning in the late 70's early 80's)

Keep this crap up and she's going to start kicking in, hair & nail appointments be damned.

My GF leaves the water running constantly. I kindly reminder her "The water is probably hot by now" after the shower has been on for 5+ minutes, while she's doing whatever else in the other room.

Don't do that. They have the Toughest Job In The World. 189 hours per week, without the ability to sit, eat, or shit.

No shit

Dont get me started on this... It takes 5 seconds for our shower water to heat up. Plus you get water splash back when the curtain is open. The shower should never be turned on unless you are already in the tub. Just turn it on and stand back and wait 5 fucking seconds!!!!

  I saw that video on Facebook yesterday. Every mother is a single mother that doesnt work apparently... My mom was/is a lazy parent. I turned out OK despite her, not because of her.

My wife is pretty good with turning stuff off, but she doesn't understand why we have to adjust the thermostat if we aren't going to be home for a long time. I'm always like, "Well we're not paying to keep the house at 70 when we won't be in the house for the next 10 hours." Vice versa in the summer. We have a lot of trees on our lot (which SUCKS in the fall), but helps keep the house nice and cool in the warm weather.

I don't have those problems. I just get "Why is it so cold over here?" and I ignore it. I'll have on shorts and might even feel a little hot.

It is one of the great things about not living with a woman. Eventually I'll have to give it up but right now I'm loving it.

Let's put in a Wifi Thermostat. You can install the free honeywell app on your phone. So turn it down when you're gone, turn it up on the way home. She'll love screwing with the app. And it's cool. If the heat goes out and you're not home you'll know. You can get alerts if the temp drops to a certain temp or if it gets too hot so you'll know if you're gone for a few days and the heat or ac goes out.

God bless all the stay-at-home moms out there. I respect the hell out of them and raising kids is not easy unless you are a celebrity. I know it's got some rough parts.

But I'll be damned if I wouldn't give up my job and be one of them right now. Forever. I'm a stay-at-home, um.......dad......for 2 1/2 months a year. It beats the hell out of the other 9 1/2 months every single year. And my kids will drive a dude CRAZY in about an hour. They will eat people alive and have them wimpering in the corner in less than a day.
But staying home with them every day is 1000x better than going to my suck-ass work for a..........week?
The stay-at-home moms gotta come on with that. I know, it's still work - believe me, it is - but dealing with adults is worse.

edit: I do not like Com Ed.

I'll never understand people who don't turn off the lights when leaving a room. This should be like breathing...you do it without ever thinking about it. Mrs. Scorehead is pretty good about turning the lights off, but she cant brush her teeth without leaving the water run the entire time. I don't get it. We play thermostat wars all year long...shes always cold & I'm always warm. As for electric, I have gone 100% LED & CFL in the house & outside & my electric bills might be $25 less, but are still ridiculous. Someone mentioned a $40 electric bill. How is this possible?
All homes should be outfitted with solar panels, but solar is still cost prohibitive.
