I know they will be "TRYING" was the exact word said to me. Which from my guy means they are going to do everything they can to get him.

If he said "I don't know", I would think it means they are going to call his agent to see, but not do everything possible.

Getting Melo is not about winning a ring. It's about locking in revenue streams, which allows them to do other things. Yes, they want to win a ring, but money is the driving force here.

That's fine with me. With the current state of the Eastern Conference, they will be right in the conversation. I don't know if LeBron will leave Miami, but I don't think him, Wade, and Bosh will all be back next year.

Melo has big flaws, but in the NBA, the opportunity to get stars is very limited. I want him for that reason if nothing else.

I am not a close follower of these things but what has Melo done that others have not? I understand he doesn't pay particular attention to defense or that he may be a prima donna but what else? I don't hear criminal or cancer to a team stuff?
