I find that really hard to believe. He's locked up for a couple more years and the Bulls would get absolutely torched if they traded him.

I know they will be "TRYING" was the exact word said to me. Which from my guy means they are going to do everything they can to get him.

If he said "I don't know", I would think it means they are going to call his agent to see, but not do everything possible.

Getting Melo is not about winning a ring. It's about locking in revenue streams, which allows them to do other things. Yes, they want to win a ring, but money is the driving force here.

That's fine with me. With the current state of the Eastern Conference, they will be right in the conversation. I don't know if LeBron will leave Miami, but I don't think him, Wade, and Bosh will all be back next year.

It's about getting 5+ years of accurate forecasts of revenue streams.

Cool. I don't give a shit about Jerry's pocketbook. I just want to see a title, and Melo improves the chances of that.

Wade isn't going anywhere. No one will pay him max money. He may be out of the league in 4 years.

Yeah he's definitely going to opt in to his contract. But I could see LeBron leaving and/or Bosh being traded.

Yeah, we don't really need him. Already got a great scorer/creator in Augustin, right?

IIRC they have player options for the remainder of their contracts.

Melo has big flaws, but in the NBA, the opportunity to get stars is very limited. I want him for that reason if nothing else.

He's a black hole. That won't work in an offense that thrives on ball movement. I would go Love and kick the tires of others before I would settle for Melo.

I think that's correct. But they don't have no trade clauses. I can't really see Wade having any value, but Bosh still does.

I am not a close follower of these things but what has Melo done that others have not? I understand he doesn't pay particular attention to defense or that he may be a prima donna but what else? I don't hear criminal or cancer to a team stuff?

I meant it more as "this doesn't make much sense" comment. It's like saying you don't want Rubio because he can't shoot so you'd rather have Rondo.

Love will pass the ball and he is younger.

He is indeed younger. He's just as much a "need my numbers" guy as Melo is though.

I can live with Melo as long as Taj and Noah are still on the team.

I heard on the radio today that Noah isn't all that great of a basketball player.

Don't need 'em.

Agreed. Taj in general is expendable, but not this offseason.

You ditch Taj at his peak or near it.

You keep Noah.

It has to be that way.
