Not always true. If someone took the life of my kids I am making that emotional decision and imagine you feel the same about DW. When the person isn't close to you it is a lot easier to step back and think clearly.

Surely. And precisely the reason why I wouldn't be allowed on that jury. Unless you're talking about you yourself attacking the perp afterward, in which case you'd be joining the Scorehead Death Row.

Yup. The close family and friends can get emotional. But as a society, our laws and procedures can't be based on emotion.

No one is saying the guy's not scum. We are saying you can't throw out the rules because of emotion. Educated people should realize this.

This is what's wrong with society. It's absolutely disgusting. The people who did this should be shot. I almost threw up when I read it. I can't believe they'd make a waffle taco.

From the article During an interview with investigators, Wygant confessed that he suffocated his son to be able to play video games, the sheriff's office said.. Now based on that excerpt I'm fine with wanting this guy eradicated asap . If the story evolves and other things are brought to light perhaps I'll change my opinion. Darko be fair man, I've espoused essentially the same opinion as Scorehead here so include me too in any criticism you have. Am I being reactionary? Of course but as this case stands now I fully stand behind my opinions here.

If someone harms my kids and I have the opportunity to reach them my first thought isn't calling the police. Are you saying that if some clown harmed your wife your first thought would be to call the police? Now if I didn't have an opportunity to reach the person before they were arrested I would still hope that they died but I wouldn't opposed to them showing up in court.

They're your opinions and you're entitled to them. I can't agree with you on any level, though.

I think we're talking about different things. I'm talking about a suspect apprehended by police. If I saw someone hurting my wife I could easily drop the hammer on the clown assuming that I was defending myself as he would either a) be in the process of attacking me as well or b) be inclined to attack me as I may be a material witness that could get him arrested/imprisoned. There is an immediate clear and present danger in your scenario.

Riley Fox (March 31, 2001 – June 6, 2004) was an American three-year-old girl who was reported missing in Wilmington, Illinois. Later that same day the girl was found dead in Forsythe Woods County Forest Preserve, a public park that was just a few miles from the family’s residence. The girl was found face down in a creek in the park. She had been bound, gagged, and sexually assaulted and then drowned.

The night of the disappearance, Kevin, Riley's father, had picked up his kids from their grandmother's house around 1 A.M.. Too tired to carry his children up to bed, he laid Riley down on the couch and Tyler, Riley's older brother, down on the living room chair. He then went to his room, watched TV and went to bed around 2:30, according to his statements to police. The next morning, Kevin Fox was awoken by Tyler. Tyler informed him that Riley was gone, Kevin searched the entire house for Riley. He noticed that the front door and screen were open. Kevin went next door to a friend of Riley’s to see if they had seen the little girl. When the neighbors had not seen Riley, he then called the police.

Kevin Fox, the girl's father, was initially charged in the young girl's murder, based almost solely on a videotaped confession that he had killed Riley. He spent eight months in prison before he was cleared of all charges due to DNA evidence and the confession was ruled out based on coercion.

I'm guessing you would have shot this guy like a rabid dog as well?

Forgot all about this case. That guys life will never be the same. I'm sure there are still people who believe he did it.

Sorry rogue but it absolutely does. I can't believe you're actually saying he doesn't have a right to a trial. I would expect it from Scorehead. Also, killing this guy won't bring back his son, but it will make us a society who kills people. That said, I at least understand the death penalty argument. I don't understand the trial argument.
That's fine leash. Like I said Im fine with trampling this guys rights and what that makes me in the eyes of the board. Carry on. 8)

Is this where we take turns combing the internet looking for examples of "yeah but what about this?". Just be happy with the fact you're obviously more evolved than me and leave me to my reactionary I want to kill the innocent cavemen ways.

Even self evident cases like this one seems to be deserves a trial, br17. Anything else screams of arbitrariness and threatens to undue the justice system. Let the formality of a trial happen, get the expected guilty verdict out of the way, and then let him get his comeuppance.

i mean, when you walk up to your house and there's a 20ft python chillin there on your front doorstep and you're like "wow, it must be tuesday" if you don't take the hint...... well, good luck and god bless.
