Toews/Kane Hawks now 14-15 in the playoffs as a lower seed. 32-15 when they're the higher seed.

Good job by the Blues getting a win they didn't earn.

Hawks are clearly the better team to me so I'm not on board with the doom and gloom, CH.

This hurts and it sucks, but it was only the first game.

In CH's mind the series was lost months ago.

For a better team, they sure got their shit pushed in for the majority of 100 minutes.

No way, Hawks controlled the majority of the play by an extensive amount. It's just when the Blues pushed back, they pushed back hard. That's what the Blues do.

If the Blues are so much better as you say, why the hell did it take over 5 periods to beat such a lowly team like the Blackhawks?

Show me these history books full of teams that boot a win with 1:45 left, lose in triple overtime, and then win four in six. They'll check out on this one.

They gave this game away in the third period. I think we are too beat up this year to win this series but that should be true for St Louis too.

Biggest worry coming in was Crawford and he was excellent. No matter what the Hawks could've done other than blow out the Blues would calm CH. For fuck sake he

I'm upset they lost as well ... I happen to prefer not making sweeping statements about the entirety of the remainder of the series based on vague historical precedents (or lack thereof).

Since, however, you believe you possess some level of gnostic, Bernstein-ian prescience, you therefore won't be wasting your time watching the imminent demise of the 2013/14 Blackhawks, correct?

I'd love to be proven wrong, but you could see where this game was going as soon as Oduya blew that pass. This game took a lot out of everyone with nothing to show for it.

That's a far more reasonable assessment.

Speaking of Bernstein, I just did a Friday crossword in 8 minutes, 0 seconds, and that perked my mood right back up!

Great Hockey game tonight. Games that go to double OT usually end on a freak goal & that's what happened tonight. Give the Blues credit for hanging In there, & Miller was outstanding in OT. The Hawks dominated for most of this game so yea, it is disappointing that they lost, but game 1 doesn't mean anything. We got this.

The Blues played 3OT as well. They were able to play up down for the 1st game. Kudos to them. Now they have to do it 3 more times out of 6. Good luck.

Exactly. Blackhawks had the edge in play for most of both overtimes, just didn't get it done. Nothing I saw from the Blues tells me that they are a better team. Like Don said it took them 5 periods to win by 1 goal. Win or lose that game watching St Louis didn't really impress me. Blackhawks have been down in series before and know how to come back.

Getting Deja Vu after seeing Sharp fail to close it out in OT when he was all alone in on the goalie. Hopefully, this won't be a series of the last time Sharp did that, a couple years ago in our first round loss to Vancouver.

It's nice to see that the playoff PP has picked up where it was left off last year...
