The JumboTron is showing it above and they are pointing at that and screaming too. The ref is intentionally never looking at the screen or the Linesmen and keeps saying "I didn't see it in real time / live / call it during the play, so I can't just go and call it now." If no arms went up during play, I don't care if Seabs killed the damn guy and gets 100 games. You can't after the fact give him the 5/10/GM because Backes thinks he's Batman. If they thought the play was clean in real time then you let the NHL office deal with it later.

I totally agree with you here. And they never showed an arm going up.

Same thing happened when Andrew Shaw hit Mike Smith in 2012. No penalty on the play until Smith feigned death, at which point it became a major + game misconduct and, again, three games.

"hockey-fight-o.gif." What did you do, google "hockey fight"? If I correctly recognize that gif as Jesse Boulerice getting one-punch-KOed, that's from eight years ago, practically ancient history when it comes to player safety. You would not be allowed to fuck a guy up like that and get away with just the five-minute major today.

The point being that they still allow fights to happen. Geesh

CH, I don't what you do for a living, but I sure hope it is something that someone pays you to find issues with everything man, because you are surely not the idea guy, you are the guy that comes in after and questions it all. Not saying there isn't a place for that.

Seabrook's hit was worse. Both were dumb.

Two games in to caring about the hockey season. Two games left for it to return from that corner of hell from whence it came.

You are hurting the cause of hockey parents with this.

What is the cause of hockey parents? I don't like either hit but if you don't call it for one you don't call it for both. If you want to get rid of those hits and some of the fighting then call it for both. I have no problem either way but be consistent.

Lots of parents are douchbags too. Some dude brought a trumpet to Saturdays game so they could do cheers. There was a little fight during the game too. None of the parents said or did anything or argued with the call. Both players got sent to the penalty box. Neither team was dirty.

Toews was playing the puck when he got leveled.

Backes was 10 feet from a puck that was behind him.

The hit was a penalty for interference no matter what happened to Backes.

Okay, but I think it's been said people thought he had the puck. Not an excuse for it nor does it make it acceptable, but see how it could happen then.

It can happen to kids at a much lower level of play. This should not have happened.

Backes is out for tonight. Doubt we see him before/if the series goes back to St Louis--tho maybe if they have a chance to sweep, they benefit of the extended off-time between series would make it worth some ice time from Backes Wednesday night.

It was a dirty hit. Only the most biased of fans can't admit that. Watch how Keith slashes two guys right before Seabrook leveled Backes. The Hawks were clearly flustered, and acted out.

Sure, but it's as dirty as Orpik's hit on Toews or Torres's hit on Hossa.

Okay? The point is many Hawks' fans were crying about those hits, and making excuses for Seabrook's.

Torres got 25 games, and Seabrook only got 3. It's time to stop crying about it.

I also haven't heard/seen one person trying to excuse seabrooks hit.
It was clearly against the rules.

Like I said earlier, Torres hit Hossa and Wisniewski hit Seabrook.

FAIL. You tried to play this strawman argument thing against me before, and you failed then, and you fail now. Give it up.

What's your goal here Chus? For Hawks fans to acknowledge it was a bad hit? OK, bad hit. Would like us to also feel sorry for Backes? If that's the case then nah I'm good.

Yes. It was a dirty hit, yet I have heard too many people make excuses for it, for the last 48 hours.

Curious Hair, if you want to tackle a strawman argument, here it is.

His point was to tell us that Orb ain't all of that.
