I didn't think this episode was so bad that no one was going to comment or talk about it. I found Jaime
assaulting his sister to be a bit of an odd choice. Was his intention to impregnate her again? Was happy
to see Littlefinger make his return as I thought he was an under utilized asset of the show. I find this new
Oberyn guy from Dourn to be pretty intriguing as well. He certainly has no problem getting his freak on.

It was an OK episode. The show is like this. Build up to an event and then scale it back a bit.

What a fucking day for Cersei. First her father talks about what a piece of shit her dead son is right over his corpse and then her brother rapes her beneath her sons corpse. All in all, not one of her better scenes.

I enjoyed the episode. The Jaime thing was kinda weird since it seemed like they were trying to make us like him. The Hound/Arya scenes are always among my favorite.

Yeah, in the book it was much more of a consensual thing. Cersei gives a halfhearted no but she relents. This made it look like total rape.

i may have ranted about this before but i cannot stand how this show has fallen under the umbrella of OMGNEWZ fanfare. if you ever check google news or something, MTV or one of those ridiculous outlets runs a story about the show that sounds like it's from the perspective of a 15 year old girl. it gets the "real wives of beverly hills" treatment. it's an insult to how complex the show is.

Fuck the dragons. The Dany shit is the most boring fluff in the books and the television show. The Essos parts on the show look like scenes from a Hercules episode in the 90s. That girl who plays Dany can't act. Nice tits and ass but can't act. I cringe whenever I hear the primitive drumming that heralds five minutes of her trying to look like a stoic badass queen sporting brunette eyebrows and wearing a blonde wig.

I pretty much agree - as much as I enjoy the show, this is the least entertaining part (at least since she last got boned, and now apparently she will never be nekkid on the show again).

Not having read the books, so not knowing what happens down the road, it would be more interesting if the dragons turned heel on her...

I wouldn't say it's the least entertaining aspect, but it's in the conversation. I think the Theon/Ramsay storyline and anything involving Bran are the worst.

When I read the books, I had struggled to not want to skip the Bran chapters. Completely worthless character and storyline, IMO.

Yea, I was pretty confused after the episode finished. One of the online reviews (IGN, AV Club I forgot) had a quote where Martin gave the OK. Doesn't seem like a big deal yet.

I'm actually excited by the changes. Maybe the producers have a long term plan to fix the problems with books 4 and 5? Combining Bran and Jon Snow's storyline would help condense things and could be just the shot in the arm Bran's story needs. Adding Ramsey's guy to the mix at the nightwatch will give that element of the story a whole new twist. Obviously he will try and kill Bran and that will lead to a showdown between him and Snow.

Yeah, I can't understand the choices they're making now. Especially that end scene.

What was the end scene again, I already forgot?

To summarize, what were the departures from the reservation last night?

1. Bran going to Crastor's house (pretty sure that didn't happen in the books)
2. Ghost being a prisoner at Crastors
3. Littlefinger being involved in Joffrey's murder? (I don't remember him being a part of that in the book)
4. Ramsey's henchman joining the Watch

Anything else?

The end scene had the white walker turning a baby into a white walker.

I have no problem with that especially since Martin never explains what happens to the babies. Unless he did and I just forgot.

He didn't but it's a very strange thing to put in there. I mean, maybe he'd eventually put that in a future book, but with all the ground they need to cover with existing material, it's strange that they throw that in.

I agree. I'm OK with it. I think the Bran storyline is the worst by far but this isn't even close to it - which is good.

i figured you'd enjoy watching that. :P

i don't really follow the vargo hoat subplot...and changing karl's significance...but i'll take any excuse to see more burn gorman. he rocks.

vargo hoat's death was a lot more entertaining in the book. quite an unceremonious kill. why give the cool kill to clubfoot karl, other than giving burn gorman some more screen time? which again isn't a bad thing...but it was kind of a throwaway.

good scene between sansa and her batshit aunt.

Had to look up who Vargo Hoat was, never knew that guys name. How did he die in the book, I have no recollection of that? And Hodor didn't kill him, Bran did.

Everyone at my work watches this and no one has read the book. They have all been so excited for Dany to finally move to attack the seven kingdoms. I had to tell them this morning to grab some honeyed locusts, roast dog and enjoy Meereen.
