We should break down the season into ten 16 game sections and post in those.

Yeah...and considering Abreu's recent trend...he may prefer that the season ends before he reaches an .OPS below .650

Because Rizzo, evidently, never went thru a slump during his first 16 games in the big leagues. I mean, its certainly not like he sucked and had to go back to the minors again...

Are you talking about when he was a 21-year old prospect making rookie minimum for a few games?

Some of the reaction (or over-reaction) from hosts, etc. has been way over the top. Let him play for a few months instead of making rash judgments after a handful of games. This isn't football.

100% agree. Rizzo isn't a known quantity yet either. Yet chicago media has dubbed both proven commodities and one far superior.

What actually gets in my craw...is Kaplan..this guy can hit...Offman he's one of the only players he would pay to see play...on and on with the accolades if this guy. As I wrote 2 weeks ago he can't hit the inside heater and then they throw him the hook outside. The 1st month of the season if he's hitting .250 I'll be amazed

The FAR SUPERIOR Jose Abreau hitting .139 on balls in the strike zone.... looks like the early book says pitch him in and he will chase

This is why the Sox marketing are dipshits. I'd have that idea in the pipeline already.

Damn that Kenny Williams. What a horrible evaluator of talent.

Want to go back to the 8 year evaluation of Brian Anderson?

Not playing the GM Misses game, because I agree, you can list tons of guys.

But Brian Anderson was a case of scouting on top of scouting and was really a guy that Kenny watched constantly from High School on. he didnt see tapes, he didnt get scouts reports. he was the Scout on this kid. he was the guy who had direct contact to him. Kenny was watching his High School and College games in Tucson.

I personally heard Kenny rave about Anderson and talk about MVP stuff!

And Kenny might have seen Abreu once at a world baseball classic, it was Hahns choice on Abreu. For Good or Bad.

Kenny is running around right now making up his own assignments. He is "Penske filing" You can even read article and after article and see any one of his 3 titles "President", "Senior Vice President" and "Exec Vice President"

Nobody in the Sox organization was impressed with Kenny's "Gut Feelings", but he was a good soldier and he was bumped upstairs.

Remember when he said he was going to work on the attendance issue?   And I am not laughing because of the issue, but the last guy I would think you want working on that is the guy who constantly blamed the fans for not showing up, then not being able to allow him more money to sign more guys.

Some of your other favored Sox fans here , heard he was going to get fired and it was well after Ozzie left. My response to them was that I didnt think he would ever be fired , but Kraused.

Kenny will always be able to show everyone he was the GM for the 2005 World Series White Sox, because it said it in the Media Guide. If you really think he was a major part of putting the team together, then you would be in disagreement with many people at the Sox organzition then and now.

That's probably the lengthiest post i've read that you typed that subsequently wasn't deleted.

You have a lot of thoughts here, but probably only about 20% of them even come close to making sense.

I guess then you have questions and you mean 20% make sense to you.

What can I help you understand.

I love watching this guy hit, wish he was a cub. I have seen 4-5 long flyouts to dead center 12-24 inches in front of wall in limited viewing ...this guy is gonna slug 40 this year...most hr by any sox player before may 1st (7) all time.
I have never liked Beckham , marcus semien is a better baseball player, Beckham should ride the pine this season .

Abreu: .259/.340/.940 OPS 7HR, 21 RBI, WAR .8
Rizzo: .319/.432/.890 OPS 2 HR, 9 RBI WAR .5

I think both sides are set at first for a long time.

Yeah, not totally sold he'll be real good, but if he has figured out how to approach lefties (early returns are great) he has a chance to be very good.

Italian American players aren't used to playing in this cold weather
