I know the Cubs are doing everything they can this year to take away the focus from the play on the field and it starts with the 100 year anniversary of Wrigley on April 23.

Saw the FEDERALS jerseys they are giving away to the first 30,000 fans and they are really good. I would guess $50+ in a store, but they are actually quality (not cheap  ) jerseys.

Was told price rollbacks, nickel hot dogs, etc. and a number of other give aways that day.

Just so we are clear, that ticket for a Wed April 23 game should be 50% less than it is, but it's a full price ticket that day, so they have made the money to allow 5 cent hot dogs.

This should be an annual game. Doesnt have to be a anniversary, but season ticket holder appreciation, or general fans, extensive giveaways, cheap food, drink, etc. and not the last day of the season selling me hot dogs that are 5 days old.

Cubs season ticket holders need a reality check about what their disposable tickets are worth on stubhub.

That is pretty cool. I just checked to see what the promotion was for the May 17th game I am attending.
Umbrella Day. Bad omen or no?

They are worth what people will pay for them. Sold Sat tickets for face value

Nope, they actually came pre-laminated for this game and being a 1:20 WED game in April was priced = Weekend game v Yankees in July, I figured something was up, so called my guy and went over to see some of the stuff they are doing.

If anyone can jump on Stubhub and find some cheap tickets for this game, as maybe a season ticket holder is selling a Wed 1:20 game, just thinking they want to get rid of them, would be a good purchase.

I looked at prices for 3 tix during the season. The lower infield boxes were all $100+ on StubHub. That's absolutely ridiculous. Probably going to wait a little later into the season to find someone giving their tickets away.

Picked up 4 tickets for this game for a total of $169/$42.25 per ticket, out the door on StubHub.

Had to do 2 and 2 in consecutive rows, no 4 tops avail in that area/price range (need to be close to the smoking lounge for the other folks).

On the Cubs official ticketing site, 4 tickets in that category at face for that game, $240.

Image

They only have singletons available in that category. Just for reference, not any of my seats.

God, look at all that nickel-and-dime shit. I'm surprised they haven't moved $6 off the $46 and called it a "Rooftop Allowance Fee." I shouldn't have to allow those rooftops!

The D-Backs will participate in the historic date as well by wearing Kansas City Federal League uniforms.

I also understand that no black players will be playing either, to honor the historic date.

first 10,000 fans get a cupcake from Chef Decarlo, the guy from the TLC Bakery show, he's also making a huge cake!

Distractions for the first 42,000 fans as well

man why did fujikawa get a square? are chicago japanese people that fickle and stupid to the point where they like "he on building, now we go to game because franchise have honor?" cuz really.... man, don't you have to like, you know, play in games to be worthy of a wrigley square?

indeed, for that year fans at wrigley were essentially "committed." and voluntarily at that =D

I will not be attending the Brix and Ivy ball.

Kind of surprised the Ricketts clan chose both events for one day. especially a Wed.

I guess when you have no conception of working, you just make plans for everyone else on your time schedule, classic characteristic of every rich person I have ever met.

Price rollbacks happening throughout the game or is it like "If you're in row 7, Section 123, seats 7 and 8, you can get a nickel hot dog for the next 3 minutes (*limit 1 per 2 customers, condiments and bun cost $5), GO!"

Getting pushback from other attendees, they want to hit the byob spot Wrigley BBQ next to Jewel pre-game to pre-drink/eat.

Have no idea, wont eat the dogs even if they are 5 cents.

Wrigley BBQ is quality, but I would do Flacos tacos or even Moes pregame.

I don't understand how they could only have 11 former players for the freakin 100-year celebration. I can see why Sosa might not be there, but no Kerry Wood? No Mark Grace? WTF?

Lame.

They will have the big party with all of the players there in 2016, the 100th anniversary of the Cubs playing at Wrigley.
