OK, let me speak for the rest of us ignoramuses:

1. Winning is fun, whether watching on TV or more importantly when shelling out the cash. Winning makes it all the more better.
2. The people that care about winning aren't dying off because nobody grows losers, just ask Jerry Reinsdorf.
3. The number of intelligent baseball fans not discussing wins is too small a sample size. If the B&B show were dependent solely upon those listeners, Dan would be living out of his wife's purse and his son would have to take up a more intelligent (less costly) sport like soccer.
4. No matter what sport they are talking about, they can't get enough legitimate guests who they can proclaim as "experts" to espouse this philosophy of winning being irrelevant. They could line them all up and not get three over the next two months.

Bonus: The only thing more important than talking about winning baseball is what tangent the TV play-by-play man is veering towards. If only the former voice of the Rockford CBA team could wax nostalgically, coin catchphrases, or show any sense of clever (or entertaining) spontaneity.

Then again, none of that shit matters either.
