I love golf outings/scrambles, but $200 to play Seven Bridges is a HUGE rip off. I'd pay $60-70 max. A hot dog lunch and a crappy buffet dinner doesn't make up the $130 difference.

Not even for charity?

What % goes to the charity?

Shakes, you are totally wrong.

1. Every nickel goes to the charity.
2. Every hole is sponsored with some giveaway.
3. Silent auction.
4. Quality Gifts in the raffle.
5. Lunch and Dinner provided. Lunch by Hugos, dinner by the Club.
6. Hit the Ball in the floating square for a trip to mexico. $1 a shot! HP Kev was one of 3 that got it in, blind draw he lost.
7. Free gifts given to every golfer. Package of golf balls, visor, water bottle, etc.
8. Oh yeah, it's a good time as well.

Last year, I walked away with $200 in gift cards from Del Friscos, a new golf bag, tickets to Sox and cubs games, autographed Bears mini helmet, all from the raffle.

So Shakes, I think you got this one wrong.

^that is what I was looking for.

If it was $200 for golf and a hotdog, I'd agree with you, shakes.

that's good, but still doesn't change my opinion on the cost

2. Every hole is sponsored with some giveaway.

ok
3. Silent auction.

don't care about this
4. Quality Gifts in the raffle.

don't care about this either, not a fan of raffles

5. Lunch and Dinner provided. Lunch by Hugos, dinner by the Club.

ok, that sounds better than some of the outing meals I've witnessed

6. Hit the Ball in the floating square for a trip to mexico. $1 a shot! HP Kev was one of 3 that got it in, blind draw he lost.

that sounds fun
7. Free gifts given to every golfer. Package of golf balls, visor, water bottle, etc.

a bunch of crap I would never use, I doubt they are good balls

8. Oh yeah, it's a good time as well.

no argument there, never had a bad time on a golf course

Last year, I walked away with $200 in gift cards from Del Friscos, a new golf bag, tickets to Sox and cubs games, autographed Bears mini helmet, all from the raffle.

don't know what Del Friscos is, already have an awesome Heinekin golf bag, you couldn't pay me to go to a baseball game, couldn't care less about a bears mini helmet

So Shakes, I think you got this one wrong.

still a rip off in my opinion since I don't care about raffles and silent auctions, but hearing that the food is decent I would put a fair asking price of $125 for the event

I would also use ProV's, but I doubt those will be in the swag bag.

hey, eventually I got up and gutted out the remaining km. Granted, my buddy with stage 4 lung cancer finished before me, but I blame that to poor race strategy by my coaches and getting stuck in the back of the slow moving peloton.

Got nothing, but I'm happy to support my good friend who has cancer and is a member of the charity.

Don't know anyone with autism and in general it doesn't strike a cord with me so don't really care about supporting that charity.

Well you just remember that when people turn down your invite to Manischewitzfest to support the Jew hockey tournament in Bethlehem or wherever.

I never asked for a penny from anyone for that cause I figured it wasn't right to ask people to pay for my vacation. But, part of that is I had to donate $3000 to a youth athlete trying to go to the Games. So I guess you can add another $3000 to my tab for charitable contributions in the past year.

I found it pretty ridiculous that us older athletes all had to donate $3000 so some 13 year old Jew who's dad was probably a doctor could afford to go to Israel. Not exactly a lot of underprivileged jews out there.

I know it isn't cheap but I would assume it is a pretty fun event and from what I remember, it is a nice course.
I am considering attending but would rather play with someone I kinda know from the interwebs than getting
paired with some strangers.

670 The Score will be hosting the 2014 Danny Mac Charity Golf Outing presented by the Dan Wolf Automotive Group on Monday, June 2nd. The event will consist of a day of golf including a live broadcast with the McNeil and Spiegel Show and the Boers and Bernstein Show, all while benefiting the Turning Pointe Autism Foundation!

The 2014 Danny Mac Charity Golf Outing will take place on June 2nd with a shotgun start of 1:15pm at Seven Bridges Golf Club in Woodridge. Entry into the outing is $200.00 per person or $750.00 / foursome, which includes lunch, 18 holes of golf with a cart, hole prizes, and a buffet style dinner.

Foursomes go on sale Monday, April 28th at 9:00am. For more information on the 2014 Danny Mac Charity Golf Outing, hosted by WSCR 670 the Score, please call 312-729-3944.

T-Bone, I'd be interested if we can get 2 more guys to sign up.

I rarely comment on bad of a golfer is, because I can have my terrible days, but even when I suck I will have a good shot, a good hole, a good drive. Playing with grimace last year, he was terrible. He made one 30 foot put on 17 for us to get a Birdie and that might have been the only shot of his we used all day.

Biggie, who was the guy who drove the par 4 from our foursome the 1st year?

That's still one of the best drives I've ever seen.

My Guy "T" owns a bunch of bars (Boundary, etc) he played Golf at SIU in college, he is a 350 yard driver guy. Makes your team better! If he was a little bigger he could have done that long drive stuff.

Last year on 17, there was a guy who was a Pro Long drive Guy and on the 373 yard Par 4, for $50 he would take your first shot, leaving you a birdie chance to get you the trip to Mexico. The $50 went to the charity as well. Someone else can look it up, I think he was the #1 pick as well of the Pittsburgh Pirates in 99? 8th overall.

That guy must make the rounds cause I was at an outing for the NFL Retired players charity and the same guy was on the course with the same deal on the drive. Don't think he was a first round pick, but he was definitely a Pirates draft pick. Remember him telling us that.

Even better they had an air cannon on one hole and for a few bucks yoiu could take your drive with that. I put one pin high on the fringe on a 400 yard par 4.

I decided to spend the money elsewhere so I would be out now. Hoping that there is a CSFMB

For those of you that are going, what time are you heading out there? I have wanted to attend this outing for several years now and this year I got a foursome together. I spoke to the promotions department and they could not give me an exact time to arrive. 9,11,12? I hope to meet a few of you out there. I will be the guy that looks like he hasn't touched his clubs or a treadmill since August.
