They Cubs got a good deal from Texas,

Based on what?

As I wrote in another thread, I doubt that Ranger GM is sweating half as much today about the trade as he was in spring training.

Im tiring of this purposely obtuse dance with you.

Minor league players exist. Prospects exist. They are evaluated and ranked.

Of course it could be wrong. Right now with all we know about the parts, it appears to be a good deal.

And then right in the middle of condemning Donald Sterling, he says that not paying white guys to play basketball (because studs with beautiful black bodies are better) is something they can agree on. This was a teaching moment.

In the span of two minutes I heard the classic "hang up on yourself" line, followed by him doing his thing where he, in a very soft and whiny voice, says "oh no" while the caller is still talking.

I'm convinced at this point the only reason this show takes callers is so they can say they take callers, because it adds absolutely no value otherwise.

Are you suggesting that more people aren't listening to this show today than yesterday?

It's too bad that Donald Sterling never referred to black people as schvartzes, because then his rantings would have sounded like a character from a Philip Roth novel.

What do you think the odds are that Jerry Resinsdorf has never used the term schvartze?

"Jerry Reinsdorf issued a statement, which Dan Bernstein will read after the update."

Yeah, you're damn right, because ain't no fuckin' RANDAZZLER gonna get in the way of Dan Bernstein allowing Jerry Reinsdorf to speak through him.

Jerry Reinsdorf statement: "We completely support Commissioner Silver’s decision today regarding Clippers owner Donald Sterling, and praise him for his prompt investigation and action. The Commissioner was correct to ban Mr. Sterling from all official NBA business, to levy the stiffest allowable fine, and we will support his recommendation to press for Mr. Sterling to relinquish his ownership of the Los Angeles Clippers franchise. We believe Commissioner Silver’s decision reflects the best interests of the NBA and public civility.
"The league’s decision underscores the severity and reprehensible nature of the comments attributed to Donald Sterling. These comments in no way reflect the attitude, values, and culture of the Bulls and White Sox organizations. This behavior cannot be tolerated in any form.

Sure minor league players exist. So do shoulder injuries. Major league players exist, three of whom were part of this trade, none of whom are distinguishing themselves. I suppose you could think holding a roster spot on arguably the worst team in baseball constitutes a good deal because there presence makes a high draft pick more likely. That would qualify you for Cub executiveship.

*GASP*

Does this mean that Dan can still be friends with Reinsdorf?

Has anyone given the good news to Jerry?

Dan still needs to know why Jerry Reinsdorf would be Donald Sterling's friend. Why can't you be MY friend?

Good point, but I had been so brainwashed by it that it was almost comfortable. Now it's like they ripped the healed scar open and pissed in the wound...

Anyone else think Danny boy is telling himself HE IS RESPONSIBLE for the fact that Reinsdorf made a statement because he demanded one?

Caller said something about having a remote in Hegewisch, then "we'll see what happens." Dan did NOT like that.

CH, about time to conjure up a lil Danny bingo board.

A guy in a meatbally Mike North voice threatened B&B by saying "Come on out to Hegewisch and we'll see what happens...."

Neil Ramirez has had one appearance. I guess you learned all you need to know there. Olt has 4 homeruns in limited playing time, he is clearly garbage.

Is the Peavy deal now bad because Garcia got hurt?

You knew exactly what I meant and that the commonly held opinion is that the Cubs got a good deal. If you want to disagree, fine. Dont make me walk you thru the steps that I know you're aware of.

Anybody want to research the diversity of the partnership over the years of Dan's dad's silk stocking law firm?

That is racism.

Words are bigotry.
