Today's show may or may not happen. The White Sox are playing.

If there is a show, Dan will, as usual, fight the good fight on the race issue. He will also, as usual, call for the eradication of the following groups/people:

People from Pennsylvania
White people from Texas
Steve Alford
People who own cats
Cats
Stray cats
Members of the Stray Cats
Franco Harris
Members of the Paterno family
Chris Broussard
Bobby Hull
Wasps
Ryan Braun
People who like Mike Kryziewski
People who dislike John Calipari
Callers

Did I leave anyone out?

this show should truly take it up the tailpipe if Matt Garza and the Brewers win the central.

Their comments on the contract and the Brewers in general could not be more wrong.

I'm on board with that list.

People who say, "Let me preface by saying I am not a racist..."

wouldnt cub fans rather have garza at 4 - $52M than Edwin Jackson at 4-$40 (or whatever $$ is left on his deal)... the point being the jackson money could have been used on a pitcher who is actually good

Dan lets all the callers cut him one time before he yells at them. Just count his scars and you will see how stupid Chicago radio listeners are.

Absolutely, but then you dont get to trade Garza for prospects. The prospects might not work out, but that's the reason.

garza was a FA this off-season... so the 2013 trade is irrelevant. the only hangup there would have been the prospects of more money would have not enticed him to come back to the cub, hindsight is 20-20 of course

Im not following you. The timeline doesnt make sense, Jackson was signed before that.

Unless you're saying they should have saved that money to sign Garza back a year later. That makes sense.

I was just rehashing an obvious point that edwin jackson's money could have been much better spent on other players.... i used garza as an example because the contracts are similar and garza, when healthy, is the much better pitcher

Im not real big on Garza, but he is probably better than Jackson. They're pretty similar in a lot of ways actually.

Why is every daily thread turning into a baseball discussion?

  is it racist that the mental image I have of Belwas is that of Kamala the Ugandan Giant?

I was tongue in cheek about this and the win discussion that broke out in yesterdays.

These 2 every year say that the lower seeds don't have a shot in the NBA playoffs. They could really be eating those words this year, with Thunder, Spurs, and Pacers all in serious danger of making it out of the 1st round.

You know who's definitely not a racist? Jerry Reinsdorf.

Dan placed the blame for the Bulls quick exit squarely on Thibodeau for trying too hard during the regular season (and even the pre-season, which he said the Bulls are 19-6 over the past few years...how dare they). So what's the Spurs' excuse?
