Starts on FX tonight. Heard great things about it.

It's got Billy Bob Thornton and Martin Freeman from Sherlock and bunch of other solid actors. Supposed to be a 10 episode free-standing season a la True Detective about another story in the Fargo universe.

I'm in from the start on this. Expecting good things.

Been looking forward to this since the previews started popping up a couple months ago. Lots of great people in it, looks really good.

So it has Billy Bob Thorton in there. Guess his career is in the wood chipper. And Martin Freeman from Sherlock . And for what? For a little bit of money. There's more to life than a little money, you know. Don'tcha know that? And here ya are, wasting your time watching this, and it's a beautiful day. Well. I just don't understand it.

I liked it. Didn't expect it to get that crazy right off the bat, can't wait to see where it goes from here.

yeah i havent seen it yet but from what i read it's gonna get interesting and weird in the next few episodes. i think the coen brothers are exec producing this and how can you not try out a tv show with billy bob in a central role?

I think the same guy wrote every episode. The Coen's only involvement was giving their blessing on the project.

Each Coen brother has 3 writing credits. Noah Hawley has 6 writing credits. I assume the Coen's wrote 3 eps in total as opposed to each one writing 3.

They are also exec producers on all 10 episodes.

I'd guess that's more correct than imdb. He's usually on top of things.

imdb can be spotty with their info. like wikipedia...which also only lists noah hawley.

it was a pretty enticing beginning. i like when shows go balls to the wall.

it's agitating how it seems like all these other cable channels are mimicking hbo's pretentious way of promoting their original programming though.

I'll definitely check this out over the weekend.

Caught the first episode last weekend. It was pretty interesting. A hell of a lot more going on than
I expected in that first episode. I was actually rooting for the dude to kill his wife, what a bitch. If
this is actually more true to the actual events it is intersting to see the differences between this and
the screenplay that became the movie Fargo which has always been one of my favorites. I think
episode two was on last night so I will have to try to catch that this week.

martin freeman is just owning the screen whenever he's on. love the guy. i enjoy the show...i don't know that it was necessary to make but it's rather entertaining.

Agreed, probably not necessary but some good acting and I am finding the story pretty interesting. Wasn't
expecting to see Bob Odenkirk show up as the acting sherriff. Mixed reviews on the Minnesota accent, not as
over the top as the movie which is good. My whole family is from Minnesota and while there is a definite
accent it isn't as Canadian as the movie makes it sound. Not sure how they will fill that many episodes so
there must be much more to this story than I assumed.

I've never seen the movie. Started watching it Saturday night (after too many IPAs) and fell asleep halfway in. Need to watch it in full, then I plan on giving the TV series a shot.

Good show so far.

i think it's one of thornton's best characters.

I was kinda feeling the same way after the last episode but I will continue watching.
The story is very strange but some of the acting as mentioned before is pretty good.

Just started watching this last week...i am digging it 4 sure, Great 2 see Bb punk that cop n drive away.. I like the casting n acting....the only thing I would lose if the mute, Those hand signals make absolutely no sense .

Tied in with the movie in a big way last episode. Best episode yet imo.
