The offense is offensive. At least one of the interceptions was throw at a time when they should have been running the ball. I guess that means Ron Turner is a knob slobberer. I almost long for the days of Schoop.

The dipshit we call the quaterback doesn't know a blitz from his ass and still throws off his back fucking foot.

2 games and 1 offensive TD is unacceptable. I think I'm more mobile, can read defenses better, and have better mechanics than Rex even in my condition. He blows like a fan and sucks like a vacuum. I hope Rex is extinct by mid October.

Edit: Cedric Benson is still a dope and the AP love still puzzles me.

sure the WRs dropped a few passes, but it all starts with rex. both int's were his fault, and he made several bad throws not "at least on(e)". if he cant make throws consistently, and keeps turning the ball over, he has to be taken out. the only offensive TD scored by the bears this year is by fucking john st clair. that is totally pathetic. benson had a good game today, but rex made way way too many mistakes against a bad team to lead me to believe that he will take them back to the super bowl. because from what ive seen from him so far, he'll be the one to keep them from getting there

Rex made at least on bad throw (I was drunk but I'm sure that screen was his fault too) and his receivers were bad as usual. As long as he has a team full of #2 and #3 WR's it's hard to know what he might do with a real offense. He made all the right decisions in the 1st half and kept getting put on his ass by poor blocking. He might be dead by Week 5 with all the hits he is taking.

I dont disagree with you completely, suprisingly. I have been a big critic of Rex but heres what I saw today, as objectively as possible,

-Rex didnt play well, but his O line and WRs didnt give him much help, like Nas said. I think both his INTs were his fault unlike last week, and he also didnt have a great game besides that. The offensive line played worse than they should have, considering the Chiefs best D lineman was suspended and the casual fan couldnt name any other lineman on the defense. They will miss Thomas Jones more than in just the running department. TJ could pick up blitzes way better than Benson, and I also happen to believe he is a better runner right noe then Benson(Beonson has more talent but TJ has way better field vision and awareness).

Overall, the Bears problems stretch beyond Rex, but he is also a significant factor in the offense's struggles.

Not to mention Kruetz has been on the muscle when it comes to the Bears over his entire career, He is a very emotional player who has been one of the more penalized offensive linemen in the whole league, and wants to believe their offense is better than it is, and will make dumb comments in the process of the offensive line playing poorly.

Im a bit surprised Nas has not expressed his feelings yet. Has to be one of the biggest Bears fans on the board and never seems to be shy of being critical when necessary of the Bears.

I can't put the performance of Rex on the WR's today. Yes, there were some dropped passes, and again some miscommuncation, but he was inaccurate, and made some really dangerous throws today.

This next comment isn't all Rex, but what does it say about the Bears when their best opportunites to score is when on special teams or from a defensive score ? When the Bears have the ball on their own 20 (or around there), I'm more concerned with the Bears throwing an INT than actually putting together a 80 yard drive. It's early, and a lot can change, but Rex Grossman needs to get it going. I'm not calling for his benching, but he (and others) on this offense need to start playing together - that goes for picking up blitzes better, not fumbling the ball, communicating better, dropped passes, and better decision making/accuracy from the QB. Next week is going to be a big game. The Cowboys are a great offensive team, and while I expect the Bears defense to hold them down, we're not going to be able to win games without an offense. Today, the offense scored 10 points (7 came from Hester, 3 came from a turnover that resulted in a field goal) on it's own. Not acceptable.

I did hear that, but I also know Berrian threw Rex under the bus after last week's game about that throw to him. I'd assume you knew that having a son named Rex.

Nas, I also think you've got to start acknowledging some things being said by Westmont Mike and Spaulding. They're rooting for the same team as you and watching the same game as you. I suppose you'll take a unnecessary sarcastic personal shot at me when making comments even if I upfront say somebody correct me if I'm wrong, here's what I'm seeing. I've never imposed my website on you, but this is how a lot of you act whenever I comment. "Well you do a podcast, so I guess I'll make fun of this now." Gets kind of fuckin old, but whatever.

I thought the biggest problem with the offense was the play calling. Are they trying to build up Grossman's confidence with lots of runs and safe passes? That was the Kyle Orton playbook they used Sunday.

I think they are using a vanilla style offense - occasionally 3 WR's, and mostly pound the ball behind the OLine with Benson. Basically, they are leaning on their defense and running game to control the game's outcome, and while I can't be overly critical, you have to be able to score points as well.

That defense was sick. I felt sorry for Huard and their offense, he was taking a lot of hits.

I'm not totally with Nas, but I agree there were a lot of dropped passes, and the TD throw was right on the money. I'm not totally against the vanilla offense, it seemed to be working for the most part, Benson was moving the ball nicely for the most part. If he's doing that, then you can live with the 5 and 6 yard passes. They just need to move the ball enough to keep the clock running and give the defense time to rest

Yeah, I agree, it's not like they cut into the beginning of the Bears game to show other games.

It wasn't until kickoff, it was until about 3:30 was left in the first quarter. I'm in Champaign, so the Chicago game is only the secondary market, not the primary market, so they weren't going to switch. WCIA (the CBS station down here) had to be receiving a ton of calls because they were running a scroll at the top of the screen saying "we have contacted CBS and they are not switching to the Bears game until the conclusion of the current one." That's assinine, and of course they waiting until even after the game was decided. Then, they ran a slate of commercials until the current drive was finished, and then another slate of local commercials between drives. I didn't miss anything too important, but I missed about a quarter of the game, and that pisses me off.

Ahhh...I see. Well that's a different story altogether. That sucks. How a city 2 hours south of Chicago isn't a primary market is beyond me

i'm the first guy to say rex isn't an nfl caliber quarterback but i honestly say turner is not giving him a chance. every team is bringing the house and they still will not implement the shotgun. did anyone see that patriots game last night? brady is a monster out of the shotgun. rex is no brady but he does have the size of drew brees who's out of the shotgun 60% of the time.

I think that Grossman's days might be numbered. This offense doesn't look a thing like it did last year. I'm not talking about the execution of it; I'm talking about the actual offense. Somebody said it perfectly that it was the Kyle Orton offense out there on Sunday. That's what it looked like. If that's the type of offense Lovie/Turner want to run, Rex isn't the right guy. If they want to try and stretch the field, then he is.

Yes, but the Bears game is the game scheduled to be on, not any other one. I don't get the Bears game just because it's national, but because we are a secondary market. And the Cincy/Cleveland game wasn't the secheduled early game; Indy/Tennessee was, and that game had been over for some time. And regardless, I obviously wasn't the only one who was pissed.

While I agree that shotgun sounds like a good solution when the opponent throws everything they have at the QB, I feel that there is a reason (a real bad one) why Turner tries to avoid shotgun. Grossman fails to take the ball when it's shoved directly into his hands, what do you think will happen when it's thrown to him from about 5-7 yards out? Add to that his tendency to dance backwards much farther than any QB in football and pathetic blocking of rushers coming around the edge and you have a perfect recipe for disaster. Turner does deserve a blame, but it shouldn't be for not implementing shotgun. He should be blamed for letting Grossman to remain a starter and limiting the team's offensive options. Well, that and about seven bad Illini seasons.

No shit. This really pisses me off. Every time he comes in, I think to myself "they better not try to throw that fucking screen again." And every time, they do. Uh, how exactly is that supposed to be fooling anyone? You might as well paint the play on the fucking field before the game if you're going to run the same play every time Hester comes in.

I agree that Griese and Orton are better suited for this style of offense, but that style of offense isn't going to win them any games. I think they're better suited letting Rex take some shots down field. They're not going to beat any of the big boys trying to dink and dunk. Their D is good, but not that good.
