I live just south of Lake Geneva in Illinois and I hate the tourist season. You can't drive on Rt 12 due to the back-up in traffic. They have really built out Rt 12 on the outskirts of town. Not only are there a Best Buy and Target. They have added a whole bunch of small stores alongside the frontage road. I guess it gives the visitors something to do.

If it wasn't for tourists your area would basically be West Virginia.

Lake Geneva tourists and the week of Country Thunder turn my town into one big parking jam. I hope they build that bypass around town.

No, precisely the opposite. It gives the natives something to do. Used to be that you had to schlep out to McHenry, Crystal Lake, or god forbid, Janesville to do anything but the most basic shopping. No one who lives in Lake Geneva shops downtown. Half of downtown is a basically a big scam by Keefe Real Estate wherein they jack up the rents and cycle out the storefronts to the next round of bored rich wives. The other half is chintzy t-shirt shops and Greek coffee shops. They've been there forever and will continue to be there forever.

My family didn't even like to do grocery shopping in town. We'd get what we had to get in town and then do the big shopping at a Jewel-Osco on the way back from Chicago.


Dude, you go two fucking miles south of LG and you're in West Virginia. You ever been through Pell Lake? Jesus fucking Christ, that is the Lake Geneva of daily life right there. It's like a community of dirt roads and fetal alcohol babies.

Where you at, Quadrophenia? My first guess was Hebron because you said directly south, but if you're dealing with Country Thunder, you must be in Richmond.

The Score likes to make it seem like Hoge is their Adam Shefter but I don't think he's particularly informed or connected. Whenever he writes or speaks it sounds like pretty much one of us on a message board just guessing based on stuff they read on ESPN or Deadspin.

He has a third round grade on Manziel. That is just flat out dumb. Manziel may not work out, but his potential alone makes him perfect for at least half the league in the second round.

Live in Richmond. I have to give a break to Lake Geneva tourists. They aren't too bad. It's those Country Thunder bastards that makes me question humanity. It's one small step from being one of those Insane Clown Posse gatherings...

Unsurprisingly, there's a big Juggalo contingent around Lake Geneva. Trust me on this one; I watched it consume some very good friends of mine. I believe they refer to it as "Wicked Wisconsin." I wonder if they have other chapters around North America: Insidious Illinois, Malevolent Michigan, Nefarious Nebraska, Sinister Saskatchewan, Ill-Intentioned Iowa...

Richmond's not too bad. It doesn't have any delusions of grandeur about what it is, unlike its neighbor to the north.

WSCR's NFL Experts are embarrassing. Hub is a buffoon and Hoge's prediction of Manziel not being drafted was just a tad off the mark.

EDIT: Didn't realize tonight's portion of the draft was only the first round.

Classic dissembling from the Thinking Fan's Station. Adam Hog didn't say Manziel wouldn't be drafted in the first round, just that he wouldn't be shocked if he weren't. COME ON, PEOPLE, LISTEN FOR ONCE.

Manziel falling out of the first round would have been a fall worse than what happened to Aaron Rodgers, which was pretty shocking on it's own.

Add in the fact that Hoge had a THIRD round grade on him and it gets even worse. Any talent evaluator who doesn't think Manziel was worth a second round pick isn't a very good talent evaluator.

Home Depot has an app that works fairly well across their stores. Chain stores do a floor plan taking into account their size and layout that is replicated across the chain (i.e., Home Depot, Target), although some are better than others at their inventory control.

As for the wander/impulse buy factor, the less time you spend searching the more likely you are to actually see and look at the endcaps. When I know what and where I'm looking the endcaps seem to stand out as my attention isn't too narrow as I know that I'm going to be in and out quickly.
