To answer the question, I think it might be a forbidden fruit kind of thing. You want what you can't or shouldn't have. It's kind of like how all my friends and I wanted to bang our friend's sister back in high school. It's not like she was the hottest girl in the world or anything either.

I banged one of my good friend's girlfriend on New Years Eve when I was 20. That whole thing didn't end up well at all but we actually made up and became friends again a few years later. Douchebag move on my part eventhough he cheated on her all the time. Something I wouldn't do again.
