Had to look up who Vargo Hoat was, never knew that guys name. How did he die in the book, I have no recollection of that? And Hodor didn't kill him, Bran did.

hoat's ear is bitten by brienne when they throw her into the bear pit and it starts to fester and decay sometime later. when the mountain kills the rest of the brave companions at harrenhal, and hoat is still there. clegane disposes of him piece by piece, while keeping him alive through the process. his head is shown to jaime.

Everyone at my work watches this and no one has read the book. They have all been so excited for Dany to finally move to attack the seven kingdoms. I had to tell them this morning to grab some honeyed locusts, roast dog and enjoy Meereen.

I had to laugh during the last episode when not a second after Dario tells Daenerys how he just captured an ass load of boats to lay waste to Westeros, Jorah sad trombones over everything by telling her about all the shit she stirred up by conquering Slavers Bay.

Enjoyed the episode very much. The best one in the last few weeks in my opinion. I'm interested to
see what is in store for the Reek character. Tyrion stole the show there at the end. I am wondering if
Shea even left Kings Landing and if she did how did they find her and bring her back? I wish this show
was 90 minutes long as we only get to see a couple of storylines each week and there are so many
characters in the show.

Last night was the first episode in GOT history where there wasn't a single Stark on the screen.

The Ironborn's aborted raid was odd and weird writing. Otherwise a good episode.

Yeah. They shoe horned that into the episode.

I guess they needed to show how far gone Reek was.

Why wouldn't they just kill Ramsay anyway, though?

Yeah, one of them could have at least tried. Toss an axe at him on your way out.

From the you tube comments section on the Tyrion scene.

I swear if Peter Dinklage doesn't get an Emmy for his performance in this scene, I'm going to eat every fucking chicken in this room.

All I gotta say is I hope GRRM plans on finishing the series in the the next year or two based on how this episode played out.

They broke the third book into 2 seasons. The fourth and fifth book are both long and take place at the same time. Can probably get 3 seasons out of that but could likely get it done in 2 since a lot of pointless bullshit goes on... So he has 2 years to get book 6 done and 3 years to get book 7 done. I dont think he is going to get it done.

HBO shows have taken years off between seasons in the past.

Yeah but there are important characters in the show that are children. Look at Bran Stark, he already looks like a different person, what happens when you dont see him at all for 2 years...

Is Bran supposed to be important?

They've already changed the ages of most of the children since TV Show Day 1 and the time that has surpassed since the beginning of the book's story. It isn't unreasonable for them to say "2 Years Later..."

We're getting to the point in the book's story where there are a fair amount of subplots without interaction between characters / regions.

The show just ended a story line that took place at the end of book four. I don't see how the show maintains that kind of pacing if GRRM doesn't get up off his ass and finish books 6 and 7 like yesterday. I am NOT going to deal with a season and a half of Dog and Pretty Pig!

 one of these days, i swear, we need to do a GoT get together and i will personally make the honeyed locusts.

i really liked this episode, especially the scene between the viper and tyrion. a friend of mine is sick of arya & the hound scenes...i don't know why. i think they're excellent.

the winterfell building scene in the book felt more poignant but that kid is pretty hilarious..."it needs a moon door!". he's a great spoiled brat.

I really hope they write Penny/Crunch/Pretty Pig out. Reading about them midget-bonding and Penny bitching about her animals got so old so quickly. The dog and pig shit everywhere in the boat, there is the maximum entertainment value available.

They haven't casted Wyman Manderly have they? I hope they stay true to the book. I am oddly eager to see who they cast as absurdly obese.

It was pretty awesome. The guy playing the mountain now reminds me of Will Sasso though, so that's a bit annoying.

Also, the Viper equals....
