This pace favors #Blackhawks. Not how Wild wants to play. Matter of time, if this is the game tonight.

Spoken by a man who would rather be blowing Lebron after a triple double than watch the Hawks move on.

Uh I don't agree with him. Blackhawks have been sitting back for a couple periods. Bryzlofuckhisnameis is looking good tonight.

It's funny how he tries to hide it now. They bring on a "guy to talk about the NBA" and then it is like:
Question 1: What is wrong with the Pacers?
Question 2: Something about some other series.
The rest of the interview: Lebron James is pretty amazing. How amazing is Lebron James?

And they dont even really get a reaction do they?

Are people lighting up the phone lines arguing and screaming that LeBron is terrible?

Its like they came up with this troll 5 years ago and havent updated it since

No, it's more like "Who cares?" and Dan says "I care" because he is one of the all time greats. I can't wait for football season when we get our daily "Aaron Rodgers Appreciation Hour".

pounding on Hawk for his doubling down on TWTW. S.o.S.

When I heard this my first reaction was "Bingo!" Slamming on Hawk (there was also the "Baseball Prospectus" square also being played). But as I listened I realized part of why their show, and their approach, may be trending the way it is. Harrelson's job is in large part to sell the team and the game. TWTW is the kind of innocuous phrase coinage that allows Hawk to be himself and to promote the game. His job isn't to call out those who aren't good but to praise those that are better. Bernstein then stated that people who embrace what Hawk is selling are stupid

Then there was a caller who questioned how Bernstein applied one of his metrics, forcing Dan to point out that what he was applying was more theoretical than practical. But then he went on to embrace the concept of that which is not quantifiable is not relevant. The problem for Dan (and those who are like him) is the question of which is more relevant, what is seen in a game or a statistical analysis of past performances?

Whether its the 4th quarter, 3rd period, or the late innings of a tight game the drama or intensity of the situation is not easily quantifiable but it can be palpable. TWTW is no more (and more and more and more) ignorant than either embracing some statistic that is being rendered irrelevant at a particular moment or accepting that the absence of a quantifiable metric means that what is being witnessed is not important.

Lebron James has a photographic memory with immediate access to all situations played over the last 10 years and integration of past performance into the present situation.

He isn't recalling things he just saw from a scout tape an hour prior.

I am waiting for his career post basketball because that type of memory is transferable to other situations. Code breaker Lebron James. Stock market algorithm creator Lebron James. Combined theory of everything solver Lebron James

Maybe he could be the CSFMB search engine.

I have come to the conclusion that I just don't like Dan Bernstein's radio and social media persona. I tried. I wanted to like him. I wanted to be one of the smart radio listeners. I have given up.

I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt that he is an acceptable person when not on radio or posting to the internet.

Of course he's not likable. The question is does he entertain you? B&B still entertain me for the most part.

This answer used to be:75% of the time.

It's now probably closer to 25% of the time.

That answer doesn't qualify as the kind of advanced metric a fully-functional Danometer would properly measure.

No. My window for listening is maybe one hour. I end up on NPR much more often than SCR and MVP at least equally as much.

I think I have to come to the realization that I'm not a Scorehead anymore. I don't know if those people even exist.

I'm pretty much a Score-head. Probably 4-5 hours/day on average.

Morning Edition, All Things Considered, This American Life, Piano Jazz, Wait Wait Don't Tell Me, Sound Opinions, Marketplace, Fresh Air, To the Best of Our Knowledge (or at least it was before the main host retired and they redid the format)

They're all worth listening to. Why wouldn't they be?

what is it about the current state of B&B that makes it worth listening to anymore? Seriously, I'd like to know.

The occasional funny segments are few and far between and the sports thoughts are just brutal these days. One of the two doesn't even watch sports and the other just reads articles or talks about "tweets" from others, without any original thought, then yells at you for disagreeing with what others opine.

Dan is Deadspin Tributosaurus. Today, he became Ryan Lambert by expressing Ryan Lambert's amazement that hockey will have advanced player-tracking.

This is not the Gawker thread, but I will say anyway that Lambert and Petchesky writing for the same blog may cause the self-flagellating wing of the hockey world to finally collapse on itself. Quick, someone go on twitter and say that someone should start a fight with P.K. Subban. This might trigger their suicide pact.
