I guess there always is a silver lining!

on one hand, this is totally a stupid reaction to a story that has already been drenched in overreaction to the point of nausea. on the other hand. if he were to actually do it, i'd applaud him. if he really feels that strongly against racism than great. its a hell of alot more than the clippers players and Doc Rivers did when they signed on the dotted line to play for a guy everyone already knew was a racist. but are now outraged that his racism was made public like they didn't know.

I believe LeBron has been the most outspoken player and if he felt that way we would have heard it from him. He's said he expects the it to get held up in litigation for a while. That doesn't sound like someone who is going to sit out for the year.

The Vice President of the union said Lebron had a conversation with him about it. Are you saying he is lying?

What exactly is wrong or misleading?

You never heard LeBron say that. Someone said LeBron said something. LeBron has spoken pretty clearly for himself.

So he's lying then?

I'm not going to apologize for thinking the Vice President of the union is telling the truth when talking about a direct conversation with a player.

Is this another one of your hilarious bits?

I don't expect for hell to freeze over anytime soon. I made the mistake of assuming you heard audio of LeBron saying this. Especially considering the statement contradicts what we have audio of him saying.

It's posturing. People in leadership do it all the time. Especially unions. You know this.

So, then he is lying! Let's blame Boilermaker Rick because someone else lied!

This board really jumps on people and doesn't let go. Now I know how chas and pittmike feel.

Mason clarified that the ultimatum applies equally to Shelly Sterling, too.

“No Sterling deserves to be an owner of that franchise any longer,” Mason continued. “And I’ve gone down the line from LeBron to the other guys in the league that I’ve talked to and they all feel the same way. There’s no place for that family in the NBA.”

To be fair, they issued the same statement about the family of Eva Braun too.

Mason later clarified his comments in a Twitter post on Wednesday.

"My bad if I was not clear," Mason's post read. "LBJ never said anything about boycotting. He's a friend, and I would never want to imply something he didn't say."

His wife filed for divorce to slow down the process. The league can't force him to sell until the divorce is final. He's going to be the owner for years to come.

I agree with your last sentence, but I don't see how the divorce affects the sale.

Has there been a determination whether Silver has the 75% majority he needs? I think several owners would look at it as bad precedent...i.e., an illegal wiretap can be used to take away your property. I think you would see an increase in the surveillance of owners by people looking to find dirt.

While true, I don't think this is the precedent they fear. I think it is more about bad, though not illegal, speech resulting in forfeiture of property.

Lawyer: Mr. Reindsorf, I have here an affidavit from a former caddy at your country club. Can you please explain to the court the meaning of the term "Goy bastards"?

.

It sure made a mess of the Dodgers sale.

I would think determining how much of the team is hers would affect the sale

I believe that the sale of the team couldn't become final until the divorce is final.
