Dont worry man, I am sure CH will break down how with the teams left there is no way the Hawks are winning the cup this year. Just not their year...

:) Well nothing is guaranteed and they could very well lose to LA/ Ana or NYR /Mon , a couple pucks don't bounce their way, etc. Someone is going to have to take it from them though, theres not a lot of give up in this team and that is where Toews shines like Matt said.

I am sticking with my story I have had all year. I do not see a team that I think is capable of taking 4 out of 7 from them.

Maybe I will be proven wrong, and you never know what can happen with injuries and such, but I feel pretty confident that they will be hoisting the cup again in a few weeks.

Lundqvist and Price can singlehandedly win a series for their respective teams. You wanted to know how, there, that's how, because it won't come from their mostly mediocre skaters. Quick could against most teams but not ours.

Hmm. This isn't going to be popular but this season got me questioning Toews leadership... a bit. This team had quite a bit of don't give a fuck this season and in my personal opinion it showed. Course they're turning it up now, but that earlier don't give a fuck will likely cost them home ice against the Dux if they win tonight.

You can't be serious. They are heading to WC finals (again) under his captaincy (4th time?). He's just turned 26, right?

The NHL regular season is a long haul, and it's not really the captains job to make Bickell give a flying fuk all year long, is it? He's already in the group of best captains of all time, and he's got a long way to go. Is there another captain in the NHL you'd rather have right now?

Plus you cant go pedal to the metal all for all 82 or you don't have much left for the playoffs. Sure there were periods this year where Blackhawks / Toews didn't look good but they're playing for a chance to go for the Cup again, after a long year with short rest plus the stupid fucking Olympics thrown in. Its understandable if they were suffering a little burnout periodically . Dont know if any captain could've done more to keep the team motivated through those periods. I give them a lot of credit for getting to where they are now.Someone still has to beat them 4 of 7 and there are no lockdown muck it up teams left ( maybe the Kings a bit I guess) so its going to favor the Blackhawks style of play from here on in. Again, I feel a bit silly about it, but really, I'd rather have Toews there than pretty much anyone in sports. You can't quantify leadership, but from afar, I think Toews personifies the kind of teammate you'd like to go to war with. "Captain Serious" is so perfect for him. He really is serious: serious about winning.

It is said that Kane is the players other players watch when he has the puck. You can never count him out. He has the knack of knowing the perfect time to step up his game to take it to the next level. Is he on the same level at the all time Greats? Not yet he is at most two tiers below. I put him right below that level. Toews is a total different style of player. He is the constant level with few ups and downs unlike Kane. It is like comparing Rickey Henderson vs Tony Gwynn. Henderson is flashy stealing bases and taking the spotlight. Gynn just went out everyday hit his usual 2 out of 3 Ab and sometimes hit a homer. Unfair to compare them to each other as it is unfair to compare Kane and Towes. They are two sides of a coin. Both are needed and valuable . If you can take both guys and combine them then you would have the perfect player. I am glad Kane is becoming more mature on ice, only good things can come of it.

You were flirting with hopping on the ledge after the 0-2 deficit against the Blues.

I go through the same Towes / Kane discussions with myself. I need a new jersey and cannot decide which one. Love them both and Chas did a good job describing it. My captain or the guy I cannot stop watching and loving the highlights. Maybe I will just go with the respected Hossa?

Or get a 50. You can't lose with this team!

We are very lucky to have Kane and Toews in this city.

Both are tremendous big game players.

The best since Jordan.

I feel like the age gap between wearer and player is critical. Perhaps gentlemen of distinction should be wearing Michal Roszival sweaters.

Stop being a buzzkill. Let Walt rock his Teuvo jersey with some confidence.

Yes it is. I was making sure we didn't lose MITC to the RFDCification of the board.

Another thing I see about Kane is he is not going to end his career as a Blackhawk. He is a homer,I see him playing his last season or run in Buffalo. Toews on the other hand even though his is a Homer though and through is loyal above all else. He is going to be here till he dies and winds up in a Binnys commercial like the rest of the old Hawks.

All this talk of Kane and Toews makes me want to bring up the other guy who when he is on ice you are drawn to watching,Hossa. Dude can be monster at times with the puck. He just one hands that stick like almost no one else.
Sweater wise I am going wit the unsung hero this year,#4.

Sounds about right, though I don't see Kane winding up on bad terms with the organization. I don't see either one playing elsewhere. Unfortunately, there are no more lifetime contracts, but they'll both get eight years when their current deals are up, which I believe would lock them up through their sixteenth seasons.
