Promoters paid 80% with a promise to pay the rest later

Warrant are assholes, but when the promoters write a message saying "we didnt see the contract" that's on them.

No doubt, mistakes were made. But they got paid, all their shit was rented and set up for them, they had the "green room" stacked with all the shit on their rider, hotel rooms and transportation were rented and they were close by. Seems like a no brainer, but I'm not a rock star...

We could always take over their fan message board, assuming that exists.

Just say the word, Makalu.

I don't know. The one I found has one post in the last five months. Warrant are the Carmen and Jurko of Hair Bands.

Malaku, if you want us to take down the Dokken fan board, just give us a sign.

Who hasn't heard of Warrant? Surely everyone knows a couple of their songs. Having said that, why in the world would anyone think it is a good idea to hire Warrant for $10K for a benefit show in Washington, Illinois? WASHINGTON, ILLINOIS! Bad decision. Having said that, Warrant are assholes for taking the money up front & bailing on the show. Fuck them. I hope all of their scheduled shows are cancelled.

Spmack, from earlier in the thread. Probably Dr. Cornell West, but that's just a semi-educated guess. I'm sure there are others. Inuits, maybe.

If Washington is like most of southern Illinois, Warrant was the perfect band for them.

Washington is in central Illinois. Why do you city slickers consider everything south of Tinley Park "southern" Illinois?

Not what one would consider a positive day ... who cares ... found myself ending the day at a local adult beverage establishment (if you know me you can guess the delight the day was just by reading that) ... anyway to add to the joyful atmosphere out of nowhere I hear "She's My Cherry Pie" cut through the room off the jukebox ... I did have a quiet smile about it. Like I already said, who cares.

If you think about it, this is the most publicity the band has gotten in nearly 20 years. All press is good press. They'll probably even sell a few records out of this.

Why do people from Peoria always get pissy when you rightly point out that their city is McHenry with some highrises and a strip club?

Well if you were talking about Peoria your post would have some validity.

I'll be the 1st guy to bash Peoria. But you were saying Washington is like most of southern Illinois. As somebody pointed out, Washington isn't in southern Illinois. I've lived in one and been to the other. And they're not really the same.

I'm guessing you haven't spent much time in either?
