To anyone with even the remotest access to either Ed Farmer or Jerry Reinsdorf, please tell Farmer to stop with the repetitively inane questions that he too frequently injects into his broadcast. An enjoyable broadcast should either be an engaging monologue (solo booth) or a captivating discussion (two man booth), not a moronic interrogation from a vapid inquisitor to an ambivalent respondent. Farmer, the questions kill any flow, distract from the content of what you should be describing, and make for an overly tedious listen. Mr. Reinsdorf, Farmer is a reflection of your organization and the stubborn refusal to not have an entertaining, or at least an engaging aspect of this part of your operation is perhaps indicative of why your team struggles to get and keep fans.

I'm a Sox fan. I like being able to listen to a game on the radio. Farmer makes me switch away.

With another 22% being devoted to DJ's 2 innings pitched.

This. I have said the same thing here before. Farmio is like a game show or talk show host. It's one question after another. They never stop. It's an odd way to broadcast a Baseball game.

We should probably shutter the board too ...

I was listening yesterday. Farmer was mad when they appealed a Sox swing to the baseline umpire. DJ saw the replay and said the guy swung. Farmer didn't care because he said the umpires weren't calling that a swing in the first game of the series. I was like, ok, so they should keep calling things incorrectly?

It is just a herky jerky broadcast. There is no flow at all.

You'd think Jerry would hang out with lots of impressive people and thus come across someone wittier than Ed Farmer.

-New supply of baseball out to the plate umpire
-Uniform numbers
-Sunglasses on top of hats
-Fans dressed as empty seats
-"Friends"
-"And we all miss him/her

You can hear at least 3 of these every innings, and all of them if you listen for half a game.

he doesn't bother me. Last time I heard an actual good radio baseball broadcaster was ernie harwell and he died 20 years ago.

Dumb questions with them never end, because they have nothing to talk about, but is there anything better than TOUGH GUY FARMER! when he talks about his intimidating requests of others he has made, only challenger to him would be Leary in an elevator.

Farmio and DJ tape their little opening spiel in advance, right? It always sounds really awkward when Ranger "throws" to them, like they're not actually responding to his question.

The whole thing sounds awkward. There are minor league broadcasts that are better.

Name 4 or 5 minor league broadcast teams that you have heard recently and are better, SH.

Meh. It's probably not great, but Farmio and DJ have grown on me. I thought Farmer and Stone did a nice job. I'm not sure where people are hearing all of these "great" baseball broadcasts, but they all sound pretty much the same to me...

I'm paraphrasing here but I do once recall him relating a story about Ron Kittle being in the Giants clubhouse and having some sort of memorabilia he wanted signed. Apparently Barry Bonds declined and Kittle then told Dusty Baker he wasn't going to have left fielder that day because he was going to break Barry's his arm or legs, can't remember which. Of course minutes later he had Bonds' signature. So I guess that's tough guy Farmer by association.

I USed to think that Ed would ask dumb questions to keep D.J. involved ...I now believe Farmer is just a moron. You are an ex pitcher, you sound clueless when you have to ask your partner if that was a slider or cutter.
