i'll always admit that i know fuckall about hockey, but this last soccer season i watched all but one arsenal match so i've got a decent perspective on the mother nipple of this fine fine sport i call "canadian stick soccer" aka "soccer with a rail of meth" for probably the first time in my life.

on one shoulder i've got a tiny dan bernstein screaming at me like NOTHING MATTERS IF YOU ALWAYS HAVE POSSESSION OF THE PUCK!!!! ASK ANY REALLY SMART PERSON. but then the other shoulder i've got tiny ray hudson preaching "possession without penetration is masturbation" --- fortunately, i think the blackhawks have done a few FA cup style celebrations over the years so they at least won the tournament. these ain't no mental midgets like arsenal.

to me it looks like the blackhawks are better at hockey than the kings. it's on them to go out and win this like they should.

yeah that's a rough go for the hawks on that one. the puck casually slid in while toews was going for a ride, it wasn't like he ran into the goalie and that allowed the puck to slide in.

BUT HEY WE'LL KEEP IT NICE AND CLOSE SO NBC DON'T LOSE THOSE RATINGS!!!!

The issue is that goalie interference can't be reviewed.

And now the Kings score. Fucking joke of a league.

How many more times does Q need to see Bollig trailing the goalscorer 3 steps behind?

you could always get interactive with the NHL and open your window and scream out "HASHTAG BETTMAN!!!!!!!!!!!" as loud as you can, aka the keep-it-real version of twitter.

Can't believe what just happened. The dude pushed Toews into Quick, then kicked the puck in and it sucks for us?

Turns out it was a bad shift change...Bollig started to go off and then sent back on causing him to trail the play. Not sure whose fault that was.

i think the UC jamming out some "euro" techno for this last faceoff will inspire the hawks to do great things. never underestimate the power of good techyes.

It's funny but the only time during these playoffs I thought that the Hawks were clearly better was the first two games of the Wild series. Other than that it's been a feeling like they're just hanging on.

Game 6 with the Blues was a dominant showing for the Hawks, too, of course.

The team that should be tired doesn't look tired right now. That's a problem.

2 goal swing. Gotta play through that though. Q needs to call a timeout and tell these guys to wake the fuck up. Don't know how they can disallow that Hawks goal , horrible interpretation of the rule . I cant wait for the explanation.

Hi, just getting in now ... could I get a brief review on this apparently controversial thing that happened please and thank you?

Can you imagine how good the Hawks would look if Sharp still played for them?

Puck went in off Voynov, goal was disallowed because Toews touched Quick, even though goaltender interference isn't reviewable and there was no call on the ice.

Was Daryl Sutter always this vocally addled or did it happen after the whole fell off a tractor thing? I mean he was never William F Buckley when he was here but I don't remember him being this bad

I don't see how any of that explanation they just gave works because JT was pushed into the goalie ......

At least he didn't grab his balls again.

Hawks trailing in shots on goal once again, 22-13. This is becoming a trend that I do not like. Keep that up and eventually you're going to have a four-goals-against period.

i love how both the american and canadian broadcasts come right out of the commercial break with the 100% FINAL WORD that the NHL ultimately made the right call in the toews situation. the canadian panel hammered it in that they were all in 100% agreement that the right call was ultimately made, meanwhile marv albert's kid aptly summed it up right after the fact by saying YEAH IT'S AN UNREVIEWABLE PLAY, ***BUT*** [the NHL was always at war with eastasia]

Crosby shits the bed again ... now Ovechkin has his legs taken away to Mars or something ... who is best now?

> MINSK, Belarus -- Alex Ovechkin has been hospitalized with an apparent right leg injury suffered during Russia's game with Germany at the world hockey championship Sunday.

Coach Oleg Znarok would not reveal anything about Ovechkin's injury other than to say he was taken to a local hospital. Znarok said information would be released later.

Ovechkin took an open-ice hit from Marcus Kink that appeared to make contact with his right knee, then flipped over and remained on the ice.
