Rizzo is 24, and debuted at 21.

It is expected that Votto would be more polished at the time of his major league debut. Rizzo has had more learning on the job.

But in 2014, Rizzo is a younger, better Joey Votto. It is reasonable to believe Votto won't again achieve the numbers he had during his first several full seasons. This is why I predict...over the next couple years ...next several years ...next 8 years or for however long Votto plays, Rizzo will be the better player.

I could be wrong. But I think this is a much safer prediction than my asinine B-Jax thoughts.

1) My comparison will exist for almost a decade. Yours is one season.
2) Different positions in the majors. Beckham has played 6 total innings at SS in the majors. Obviously drafted as a SS, he probably has more in the minors. But I'm not
3) Beckham has 2/3 of the AB that Jeter does this season. Not even an equal sample size to compare this season. Rizzo has 27 more PA than Votto. Larger sample size with better stats.

When you say "young Joey Votto" you are saying he will no longer be young and then he'll be just like Joey Votto was when he was at the same age or the same number of seasons. He's already well behind in terms of production at the same number of seasons. I guess we'll see when they are the same age, even though that has some unfairness to it too.

So, at what age will Rizzo win an MVP?

If I had to bet, Votto will have the better career on the whole.

But Votto is the most logical comparison to make...and in 2014, Rizzo is the better version. And since we aren't picking between 2008 Votto and 2014 Rizzo...Rizzo is the guy you take going forward.

It's not how we are interpreting your statement that is the issue though. Unless he plans on winning a MVP and posting multiple seasons with an OPS of 1.0+ than Rizzo isn't a young Votto. And I don't want to hear about their similar offensive games. Jamal Crawford has a similar game to Kobe Bryant. He doesn't have near the skill level. That's Rizzo/Votto. You're a smart dude, so you know better than to take someone's worst season(through 50 games) and someone's best season(through 50 games) and say those two players are comparable based on that sample size. It's not just illogical, it's every bit as stupid as Jackson/Trout. I expect better from a smart guy who loves baseball.

What Votto has done to my shitfuck fantasy team is illegal in 29 states and Puerto Rico. Theo loves his white skin and habits though. Once Votto's demise is complete and Rizzo's testicular lymphoma leaves remission, Votto will be a Cub. He will typically suck ass in late 2019 and blame an "injury" but muster up enough of the old magic to kick ass in the 2019 NLCS against the Charlotte Marlins. Nobody knows what will happen in the World Series though.
