The gun debate thread got me thinking about more important manners.

It's not legal to defend your home in such a manner. You can't electrocute your doorknobs to keep out intruders. He continued to attack them even when they were incapacitated without calling the police to let them know when he easily could have.

He then went on to lure them to a townhouse he was not authorized to enter and he continued to abuse them and take the law into his own hand when a simple phone call would have put them in jail and saved the damage he did to the townhouse.

However, these men were also currently involved in an active crime against Kevin and he does have a right to protect himself. However, the use of booby traps may not be allowable since there is clear premeditation here. I think we can all agree that Kevin would have been well within his rights to fill their bodies with bullets to protect his house but did he have the right to slowly torture these men and continue to harm them even when he very easily could have ended the violent confrontation?

I think he at least should have done some time in juvenile hall, especially for his actions in New York.

Started with petty theft of a toothbrush. Breaking and entering of a neighbors house. Matured to fraud to gain access to an airplane, credit card fraud, and and into unlawful restraint and attempted murder. All this by the age of 8.


Of course, if this all took place in Florida it would be fine.

The case uses evidence from both interactions with Marv and Harry. The townhouse is in New York.
