What a shitty end to the year. Just devastating. Hawks now have to look at winning a championship with huge cap hits for Toews and Kane.

Did you miss that the Canadian dollar dropped a lot, which will depress the cap next year and likely a year or two beyond?

Oh well. Didn't deserve to win when they gave up two goals in a minute. Two-goal leads were worthless to this team all year.

Our window will be quickly closing. Hossa and Sharp were non-factors for the most part this series. Father Time is catching up to them. Bickell was a ghost and is eating up an absurd amount of cap space for his contributions. Seabrook isn't even 30 and is skating like Hal Gill out there. Crawford is taking up 6 million for streaky play. Toews and Kane are going to Crosby/Malkin us.

Yeah, this might have been their last good chance for a while with key guys aging and everyone in the division getting better. Next year could be a wash, easily.

Score a fifth goal, maybe?

When two of your big four offensive weapons are near-invisible (Sharp and Hossa) for near the entire playoffs, you shouldn't get very far. Frankly, I'm surprised they did get this far seeing that they had a rotten second half of the season.

Again, if not for Crawford, they don't even get to this round.

We scored 2 power play goals. The issue is our developmental pipeline not providing cheap cost controlled depth. It's either boxed, traded away for being busts or stuck in the minors bc they suck.

Fuck you too and all your negative bullshit.

You are the reason they lost this series. After all your negative BS you state before this series there is no way you can see the Hawks losing this series.

You couldn't have kept your negativity going for one more fucking round?

Yes, gun was to our heads in 2010 with trading our pieces away but he literally received nothing for Ladd, Byfuglien and Versteeg (he was good then! :| ). Our best piece was Viktor Stalberg. Great stuff.

Or maybe the depth is there but coach won't play them?

Blackhawks will lock up the core players and then bring in experienced free agents looking to win a Cup and willing to take below mkt value for the chance. It's the Scotty way.

And you gotta give credit to the Kings. They won 3 game 7's on the road on the way to the Finals.

I don't think they'll have trouble signing Toews and Kane, but I'm worried about getting complementary players. Other than Hossa, have guys wanted to come here? to the extent that they'd forgo salary? The only teams that seem to get players actively seeking them out are the retirement homes like Phoenix and Florida, and maybe Anaheim, and when you look at the guys who jump to play for Phoenix and Florida, you don't want them anyway.

Isn't Car Crash Carcillo a free agent after this season? j/k.

you're right about players wanting to go for warmer climates, but Bowman did it in Detroit. Would get guys like Hasek/Chelios/Modano at the tail end of their careers to take a cheaper deal to play for a likely Cup contender.

Yeah, and what did Modano do for them? That wasn't the tail end of a career, that was a smashed-up tin can stuck to the end of the tail.

I think Anaheim is the best place in the league to go play. You get to play with elite players in a warm climate, unlike Phoenix/Florida they're not run by fucking idiots, and you have no pressure whatsoever because no one knows you're there. Teemu Selanne might not have stretched it out as long as he did if he had had the Toronto media breathing down his neck.

Coach Q talking about the ice being "heavy" (like the infamous "Duck ice" out West) and the odd bounces in the post-game presser. Not good weather for hockey, even inside the UC.

So, I turned off the tv right after the goal went in and before the announce finished saying he scored.
I can't wait for the rubber match next May.

However: you squander a two goal lead in a game 7, you deserve to lose.
Also: You don't convert a 5-3 power play, you deserve to lose.

 I did the same thing and really just this morning got a good look at the goal . Wow. Agree , cant let a team catch you up 2 goals at home and when you don't convert 5-3 its asking for trouble. Lot of weird bounces in this series, last one went Kings way. Still, fuck LA, John Quick, and hope it falls in the fucking ocean.

When a Chicago team loses a big game, that's RFDC's time to shine.
