The Boundary. Do Divison Fest was this weekend and the aging hipsters can't be held down by their kids! They're still cool. So they brought them to the festival for the kids area and then as a reward I guess they felt they deserved a few beers.

If you don't have kids, it's almost like you were never here at all.

If your legacy in life relies solely on impregnating some bitch, you are a fucking moron.

How else are my kids going to learn about the other 50% of their inferior ethnic heritage?

Who died and made you moral arbiter? I thought those on gov't assistance shouldn't have extras like shoes and cell phones. Why are you in a "straight up booze place" to begin with?

You aren't supposed to be selling stolen jerseys, and threatening people. Somebody should call the cops on you.

Behind most of that utter bullcrap, Chas does have a point. If we're talking about a family of 4 having lunch at a bar at 1pm on a Sunday, thats fine. If its 8 or 9:00 on Friday or Saturday nite, and its more of a 'bar' than a restaurant, probably not a real good idea to bring the kiddies along.

Why? If the kids aren't melting down it's fine. If we did and activity or had a game we've been in restaurants at 8/9 at night. My kids also like going out and watching the Blackhawks games.

How young are you talking about?

I've never minded a kid in a bar as long as he/she was acting like an adult and under the control of his/her parent(s). It seems to me the problem is that the parents allow the bar to become a playground for the little darlings with them running about and shrieking. Also, if your kid hears a couple "motherfuckers" when Crawford allows a soft goal, I hope you don't take umbrage. You can't hide the world from your kids. He has to learn some time. I have no problem with him sitting on a barstool next to me as long as he isn't acting like a baby. He may even learn why we put the cash on the bar.

When we lived in the Chicago area, my wife and I would frequently take our (then) two-year-old to the Bad Apple on Friday evenings. Of course, roughly 50% of their business seems to come from families, just like a couple other bar/grills on that stretch of Lincoln Avenue.

Restuarant is one thing. I'm talking about Sal's Corner Tap where its drunken regulars and they will cook frozen pizzas.

I think small children should be drinking at home.

It's just an odd feeling. If I wanted to drink and be around kids I'd head over to Dave and Busters with all the other child molesters. And like JORR stated, the aircraft carriers need to stop. Every stroller nowadays has airbags, bumpers, storage for 6 diaper bags and takes up the fucking way. Whatever happened to a simple cloth stroller with wheels that's a little bigger that an umbrella once they aren't infants?

I'm sure this adorable photo op didn't end with a crying fit fifteen minutes later.

The sad part is good old #42 was probably driving the Pathfinder home that night. "Do the alphabet backwards, Tyler, just like we taught you."

Parents don't parent sometimes. It's not the kids fault they are hot messes it's the parents. We usually bring a couple games or think of things to do and talk about in a restaurant and it helps.

I don't love the swearing but usually look at my kids and say boy that guy is mad don't say stuff like that, or at least not in front of adults. I have heard him swear playing video games, it's usually shit or damn which are my go to's when I'm frustrated. I asked him if he knew the F word he said some kid at hockey said it a lot. My husband doesn't like it but I can probably count the number of times I've heard him swear.

Having had a child and all the crap you have to carry around for them, the big stroller can be needed. We also had a smaller like the one you showed for more crowded times.

That's a great name for a bar with kids.

The problem with the first one is that it can't hold a 12 year old, his Goldfish crackers, juiceboxes, and participation trophies.

I don't know if getting shitfaced drunk and yelling obscenities is any better than the kids running a muck. Neither is really the best example of how someone should behave in public.

If they are just sitting there eating and you don't notice them then they have as much right to be there as you do.

You are an adult parent of young children. You are entitled to go out to adult establishments and drink. You are entitled to spend time and engage in activities with your kids. As a courtesy to other adults, please do these activities exclusively of one another. Uncle JORR has all but offered to take everyone's kids to Maywood Park for a character-building field trip in this very thread, so don't accuse all of us sans offspring of being less than empathetic.

Why don't you just stop talking for a while? One day, you will be pushing a stroller, and you will look back at how foolish you look right now.

What other parenting advice do you have? I have two kids, so you are obviously much more of an expert than me.

Those two strollers seem to be the same width. Probably takes up similar space.

Be that as it may, it's something that occasionally happens in bars. I don't think the fact that someone wants to bring his or her kids to a bar is an imperative for anyone to curb one's behavior in a setting that is not designed for children.

IMU and badrogue don't go to the playground and complain about your kids screaming in the sandbox, I hope your kids don't go to Fox & Hound and complain about IMU and badrogue yelling at the television.

Here we go. I can't ask parents to not take their kids to a bar and/or their absurd stroller b/c I've never had one.

I'm ready for a lecture Chus. Please, let it rip.
