I've never pushed a stroller in my life and I have 12 kids. Never had a problem not having one. I learned if I didn't make a big deal about having to walk or anything else they wouldn't either. I did make the mistake of not walking with a bag before. Took my son to the Bears game when he was 2. He was in the process of being potty trained to and had been doing well. Before we made it inside he told me he had to go to the bathroom. No problem at all. We found a corner without a lot of traffic and he got the opportunity to piss outside for the first time. Everything was perfect until midway through the 2nd quarter. He tells me he has to piss again but I tell him to wait because the Bears were driving for a score. Seconds later I feel the warm sensation of piss all over my leg and it felt as if it had gone on for mins. Even though he had on a pull up he still somehow pissed out the side of it. Fortunately it was warm that day and the piss was dry by the end of the game.

Right, it was just a simple douchebagging. I have no issue with aircraft carrier strollers in the right setting. Six flags, pumpkin picking or a water park? Go for it. Makes total sense.

But a crowded bar at 8pm or an absurdly crowded street festival? Perhaps pack the nimbler compact one? And with the bar getting very crowded maybe have your child sit politely instead of having him run around.

Wow! You need to bring a child to piss on you at football games? You should talk to Mac. He knows how to piss himself.

I guess. I think it would suck to live in the city, especially with kids.



Kids should never be allowed to run around a restaurant. We never really have the small umbrella type stroller until my daughter turned 3 or so.

I wouldn't trade growing up in the city for any realistic alternative, but I do question the wisdom of young families who attempt to raise and occupy their kids in areas that are currently not laid out with them in mind.

I love being born and raised in the city (and 3 years in Rockford, Spanky ), but if I have kids, there is no way I'd raise them in the city. Hell, I might even move out of state.

If it is a family-related / internal criticism, sure.

Maybe someone NEEDS to tell some parents that their kids are brats - might assist parents in realizing they need to step up?

I understand kids will be kids...but a trip to any public place shows a large difference in behavior.

A good start to a well behaved child is proper setting. Of course they're gonna act up in a bar, they dont know what the fuck to do at a bar. Take em to the park and all of a sudden the same craziness is perfectly normal.

My daughter is extremely well behaved. I cant speak to how ....other parents do it

If we take our kids to a street fest at 3 pm on a Saturday, we sometimes go to the businesses that are in that neighborhood. Supporting the festival. Profiting from the festival. If only there were other 21+ places in the city he could have gone to during that time.

My son has just always tagged along with me and we have had some issues in the past, but you handle those situations and make sure they know what is right. I believe the more they are in public situations, the more they learn how to behave. Some of you have met my son and I don't think it was a problem that day. Every situation is different though.

Do Divison Fest had a large family area. They are more than welcome and entitled to be there. I just wished parents could have a more compact stroller in such situations.

One year I was at the Old Town Art Fair with a couple other guys. We were dressed as one might expect for a street festival. We decided to eat at O'Brien's. When we went in the host looked at us and said, "We don't serve hamburgers." Needless to say I no longer patronize O'Brien's. The unbelievable snootiness! It's not like their food is even that good. And how would you expect people to be dressed during the street fair?
