He has his adamantium skeleton.

Prof. X said he would take Logan back and tell him what has happened and what has changed...it then cuts away to a scene where Stryker is recovering Logan off the river floor. I think that's a pretty obvious sign that he still goes through the "Weapon X" program.

I'd guess he does, but they'd have to explain why Mystique would put him through the program since that's obviously her and not Stryker.

But it's not Stryker...

I guess you missed the pretty obvious Mistique eyes...

I just hope they do something cool with Apocolypse. Having a "mutant" with any power he wants, and is immortal would be kind of lame...

Apoc can just give Wolverine his claws back when he makes him a horseman. Which I think he did at one point in the comics anyway.

Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

That's a good point.

That screws up a lot stuff because The Wolverine is considered canon, right?

And he has the adamantium claws in the future, future.

Hopefully Wolverine gets another chance to murder Jean Grey.

X3 had already changed so many things that it doesn't even matter at this point.

I don't really understand why they didn't just make the real Stryker retrieve Logan from the river. Why Mystique? Unless we are to believe that she is going to just pose as Stryker for a few years.....boning Strykers wife, and such...

Pretty lame in that his mutant power in the comics is just about everything. Hopefully they tweek this a little...

Ugh I already said that on the last page. Read people!

There are too many X-men not too make more more movies and a soft reset opens them all up again except for the poor schmuks in First Class that got whacked. Apocalypse should be entertaining, although having a villain whose powers are basically anything the writers want him to have is kinda awkward. They can do Age of Apocalypse but I doubt they want two alternate universeish storylines in a row.

Your answer assumed I already knew what Apocalypse meant.

Is this guy a good guy, bad guy or just some absentee sort pushing the world in the direction he sees fit?

If everything diverges in '73 I don't even think most of Wolverine Origins hold up. He and Sabretooth would have been "executed" and then joined team X, but I think the meat of the movie is early 80s.

They do have Beast give that dialogue near the end where he says some things are just on a path to happen anyway and even if you change certain things they'll find the way back. So you can just handwave Wolverine getting his claws back (both after Wolverine: Japan and DoFP) and Mystique siding with Magneto again some time in the future by that logic.

Apocalypse is def a bad guy who lives by the survival of the fittest mantra.

DOFP is an excellent movie btw. No real pacing issues, and the ensemble cast was handled quite well. Best X Men movie to date. Maybe the best marvel movie, as all the cheeky one liners in the Avengers became tiresome towards the end of that film.

Didn't even really notice that Rogue touched Bobby at the end of DOFP. Thanks for posting the link, Don.

They are able to explain away almost all of the problems that took place in X3. The Charles walking thing in 1981 still doesn't make any sense. Also he and Eric being friends again is odd...

I still have some issues w/ everything that's happened. OK, Wolverine & Sabretooth joined Stryker in Vietnam, but in DoFP Logan & Stryker hadn't had anything to do w/ each other & that took place in '73. So, in Origins what year was that supposed to have taken place?

Also, how could Emma Frost be SilverFox's young sister in Origins & be one degree from Kevin Bacon in 1st Class in the early '60s?

One last thing, how does Logan get all the hot ass? Maybe I should become a roided-up loner?

Origins is not considered canon out of consideration for how terrible it is.

Yeah, the Deadpool thing should've gave it away.

Find the script online for Deadpool's stand alone film. Actually pretty entertaining, and it pokes fun at the Origins fuck up as well. I wish that movie would get made.

I give Singer credit for tying up a lot of loose ends, but Origins is just so awful it would have been a miracle to fix it. Jackman was good, Sabretooth was decent, and Ryan Reynolds would be a perfect Deadpool.

Can't we suspend belief when the entire cast has some sort of super power?

I understand there is a lot of backlash coming his way after green lantern and ripd, but if he could just blend that cocky asshole vibe used in 'Just Friends' and 'Waiting' with a little more homicidal edge I'm convinced he could pull off Deadpool. Plus it's a movie he's wanted to make since Origins.

If he's anythng like the Deadpool he played in origins....I'll pass.

And doesn't Deadpool keep the mask on because he's terrible disfigured or something? No way in hell a movie studio would considerd putting a full mask on Ryan Reynolds for even one second of the film...

I think Ryan Reynolds has blown his Superhero move chances...

You should find the script floating around online written by the same guys who wrote Zombieland. They are able to find a way you can see his face enough. Hint: Flashbacks.

And now that Singer created the new timeline, I guess they could do anything they want with Deadpool....or anyone else for that matter.

At this point it seems I should remind folks that it has been stated for some time now that the movie universe has nothing to do with the comic book universe. If something matches, great, but nobody is trying to get things parallel in any real way.

I contend that if he would have done X3 and that first Wolverine movie had never been made, things would have made a lot more sense.

The Ema Frost thing needs to just be forgotten. She wasn't important to the First Class story or Origins, so just pretend it never happened.
