My cousin is a Sox fan and a Cubs hater/baiter, and I texted him a few weeks ago about how the Cubs are so bad that the only thing I really look forward to is checking out Jose Abreu AB's.....a few days later, he was placed on the DL and my cousin told me something like "leave your bad luck Cubs shit on the North Side"..

It's been stated they're contenders. Once they make the playoff the WS is highly probable. The parade plans have even been released. Totally not obsessed with the north side.

I imagine if I was locked in a dark cellar for years that I would eventually forget what the sun looked like. I'm surprised Cubbie Nation can even recognize what optimism looks like.

Every team, in every sport, is always a contender when they are 1 over .500 1/3 of the way through season. SERIOUS contenders. So serious that the rest of the season should be cancelled. It's over at that point.
