I'd be down for some freakish sand snake group fuck action. They sound like some kinky bitches.

I like the Sand Snakes, too. Ass-kicking powerful female characters are always good. Some of it is bloat. But I felt the most bloat in the fifth book was contained in the Dany and Jon chapters.

fixed.

The treatises on the fighting rings was the equivalent of Trade embargoes from Star Wars.

Ok just finished book 4. Picked up towards the end, but easily the worst of the 4.

Can you guys help me with something...I'm terrible with names, always forget them, especially when I read them in a book.

At the end of the book a couple names appeared that I assume I was supposed to know who they were but I have no clue.

First Jamie was talking a singer at Riverrun and asked the guys name and he said Tom O Seventstrom. That name sounds familiar, but I can't place it. Who is he?

And then at the very end, Sam meets the guy in Oldtown and he says his name is Pate. The book ends on that so I assume that's a big deal, but I have no clue who Pate is.

Tom Sevenstrings, he is one of the rebels.

Second guy is a Maester in training, that is the first time he appears in the books.

Thanks, that's what I thought for Tom. I seemed to remember him talking to Arya a lot.

At the beginning of book 4, there is stuff in Oldtown with some maesters. I thought maybe Pate was one of them and I forgot.

Didn't he get killed in an alley? And is now being impersonated by Jaqen?

I believe something along those lines.

You should definitely re-read the Prologue of Book 4. Lots of great info in there. The Sphinx for one. Is Jaquen Pate? And what is his motivation for the ArchMaesters key. The trial with the long distance glass and Marwin as well. Magic is awakening and the Maesters don't want that to happen...

I was thinking the same thing. Gonna go back and read it before starting #5.

Also remember that Books 4 and 5 where supposed to be one book originally. So the first 2/3 of Dragons is happening in tandem with Feast.

I haven't reread Dragons yet and its been almost a year. I may have to bite the bullet and just do it to get it over with.

Still angry about it. :x

yeah, i wasn't happy when I read about that. He really fucked up the way he released these books, just plain illogical. And the note in the back of the book about #5 coming out in a year, what a douche. Put the bucket of KFC down, ok, now the bucket in the other hand. Good, now fucking write already.

That said, i am looking forward to finding out what happened to Tyrion, Bran, Jon, Stannis, Davos, Daenarys, joroh (if he's still in the books and wasn't simply written out). I've given up on Ricken and Osha...I just assume GRRM forgot about them altogether.

This just pisses me off so badly. He is the last non-crippled trueborn Stark male. That should be a big fucking deal. Instead he is just cast aside as a throwaway character.

Until he dies, then Brandon Sanderson can come in and clean it up like he did for the wheel of time series when Jordan died.

He isn't a young man anymore.
