I didn't create anything. I noticed quite a few "I don't give a shit" and "I hate when people get offended" posts. Just pointed out why I thought that was odd. Never told anyone how to think or feel.

I am well aware that a shit load of racial issues don;t really matter to a lot of people around here. Am I, or anyone else, supposed to change their feelings because of that?

Of course not. Just like it's ok for people to totally dismiss a terribly racist practrice if they so choose to...

But the problem is if you have the right to be offended, so does everyone else. You don't think I should be offended over your use of "Krazy" (I'm not, by the way), but someone could be. Maybe the have a schizophrenic child. Are you willing to stop using it, or would you say "You're ridiculous. I don't give a shit?" If we're going to constantly concern ourselves with being offended and everyone is looking to feel victimized at the drop of a hat, we may as well stop using language and communicate in grunts.

I'm under the impression that reasonalbe folks, by and large, are aware of the problem and are working towards a good resoution to it. I daresay it's not a question of 'if' the name will change, but simply a matter of time until it does.

It's not perfection, but it is progress.

I do wonder if, ironically, American Indians vaccinate their kids for smallpox though.

But it's not a case of someone looking to be victimized. It's a clear as day, outdated racial slur. It's being held up a "tradition", which isn't a valid argument for anything.

Feel how you want. Again, didn't say people couldn't. It's just another one of those "things" that happens around here. I'd be lying if I said it didn't sadden me a little that people so easily dismiss stuff like this, but whatever. Just giving my opinion...

I wasn't specifically talking about "Redskins". It's something that should probably be changed. But I think most people have a lot of other things to lose sleep over. Like how the rights of the working man are now back to what they were in about 1890.

Why is that always the fall back? Nobody is saying "Lose sleep over this". People are saying "Change the stupid name".

You can minimize a lot of racist stuff and it will continue to be a problem and create other problems along the way. Why not just speak up if something is wrong and take care of it?

You seem to think the name should be changed, and you want the name changed, but you also think it's a mistake for people to talk about how the name should be changed. Fill me in on where I am wrong there.
