Great show thread.

I tuned in just long enough to hear them go off on a caller who said he doesn't like Lebron. That 30 seconds was enough for me.

I heard about 25 minutes on my drive home. I got to hear Danny talk X's and O's, then say it's just as simple as the Heat having the best player on the planet. Terry, of course, agreed with everything he said. The only "Chicago sports" they talked about was how Jordan's Bulls teams would have trouble defending the 3 against both these teams. Danny then read some texts from listeners upset with what they were saying and called them stupid. Good listen, good show. It's becoming the same show every day.

I am a 3 PM click off guy these days. It's almost like Dan has a personal audience of 12 people he is doing his show for these days. The 6 people that HATE him and leave his show on, and then the crew led by Quad city pat and the other ALS.

For such a smart guy, he is really not giving the listener much.

The show has just run its course. Dan needs a new challenge. He's such a talented broadcaster; he can be the best one in town when he cares. I don't think he cares anymore.

He's steadily declined over the past decade and is a shell of his former self. His increasingly dogmatic neoliberal world view has rendered his opinions pedestrian and predictable. Still, as you say, he may be the best broadcaster in Chicago, if only because the city is largely devoid of interesting radio (at least on the commercial airwaves and NPR).
