Did kind of a mini marathon and caught up on the last 3 episodes of this show. Wow! I didn't see all that
shit coming  I really want to read more about this story but I am going to wait and let the show
unfold. Hard to believe it is all true.

I think you are right about this. I read some articles stating that it isn't really a true story. I wanted it to be
though.

yep, definitely not true. Just an homage to Fargo which was also not true, but did the whole "this is based on a true story" spiel in the opening credits.

btw, did you guys catch how the parking garage was named the Gustafson garage? Wasn't that the name of the father who got killed by Buschemi in the parking garage at the end of Fargo? I assume its the same garage and its been renamed after the guy who was murdered there or am I just reading too much into things?

One more nod to the movie: the parking garage is named after Wade Gustafson, who of course died on the roof deck of a garage just like it in Minneapolis, before his money was buried by roadside and eventually discovered by Stavros.

above is from a review.

just like the coen brothers writing 6 of the episodes...

the film was based on an actual event...it just didn't take place anywhere in the midwest (it was CT) and they made up the rest of the details. it was sort of style parodying "biographical" stories that always embellish.

Can't believe no one's posting about this week's 1 year time jump. This show continues to impress like none other on TV.

Thanks for the reminder. I will watch tonight. I don't have this on my DVR so I often forget about it.

the one year jump jolted me a bit at first...but i like where it went. it was a bit over the top that lester is where he's at now but it's still pretty amusing enough. i can't wait to see how it ends.

Let me get this straight.
Lester kills his wife, stands and watches the sheriff being killed, puts a loaded gun in his
nephew's backpack, set's his brother up to be charged with murder and uses his wife as a
decoy for him and she is shot and killed.
The guy is totally week and depraved with no redeeming qualities.
AND SOME OF YOU PEOPLE ARE CHEERING FOR HIM????

Nah, not after the shit he pulled last night. I am looking forward to Billybob catching up with Lester ...the only way I am back in The Lestacorner is if he somehow manages to kill keypeele. Great show...very good episode.

Great episode. Lester gets worse each week. Him and Malvo are great characters, but Lester is a horrible guy. Is this show more than one season, or just one season?

Malvo: Is this what you want? Yes or no?

Pause

Lester: Yes.

That was great. Lester thinking he had the pissing contest won.

Season finale tonight. Who the hell knows what is going to happen here. It's been an interesting
series to say the least. I have to assume this is a one and done series which is really too bad. I'd
like to see more offbeat shows similar to this.

even though i felt satisfied by the conclusion and resolution of the storylines presented...i can't help feel a little let down by the anti-climactic finale. it didn't seem like hawley didn't know how to end it, but rather that he knew how to end it too well. there were no real surprises or moments of true suspense. i thought there'd be more tension when gus found lorne's lair. maybe find out more about him, but we don't see anything.

i can imagine 312player's arms flailing in the air like his team won the super bowl when key & peele were knocked off.

for a show with a lot of crazy build ups and odd subplots...this seemed pretty ordinary. but it was still a great ride. i enjoyed the season thoroughly. some nice symbolism to break down as well.

I agree with you. It could have been a little better but I was satisfied. If they are actually going to have another
season it may explain the ending not being as dramatic as it could have been. I was just happy to be watching
something that was actually "original" and not some rehashed show that has been overdone 10 different ways.

My favorite part of the last Ep was when Malvo gave up on chasing after Lester and went home.

That was a very unique move.

That was pretty crazy when he set his leg. Yowzers!

Knew Gus was gonna be the guy to get Malvo way back in the first couple episodes, had to make amends for letting him go in the first place.

Loved this show, loved the finale despite its lack of twists it was still 1000x better than True Detective.

I'll have to disagree with you there but I was very happily surprised by the quality and writing on this show. It
is definitely up there with True Detective as best new show this season but I don't think it was better, no matter
how you feel about the way True Detective ended.

i didn't need any of the heroes to die, that's not what i mean about tension or climactic endings. there just seemed to be a very neat end to it that seemed incongruent with the rest of the season. it was still good, and i still overall enjoyed the season as a whole.

i loved the two glove story.

I just finished watching it after a binge session and I loved it. I actually rather liked the ending, Gus getting Malvo, Nygaard getting Nygaard.
So, where's the deaf fella?
