There is nothing better than watching in person with 70,000 other dopes. I will say Packers games are actually pretty lame. A lot of tourists and families go and they're predominantly quiet field mice.

Browns game are hilarious. Everyone knows the Browns suck and barking after a positive play with 50,000 other knuckleheads is so meatball and feels so good.

Went to Browns/Redskins in Cleveland two years ago. It was Kirk Cousins' first career start. Browns were up at halftime. Some jag kept yelling at me about "Where's the wussy RGIII, blah, blah, blah," asking who this bum Cousins is. Well, that bum absolutely lit them up in the second half. I decided I would start firing back at the 'Skins dismantled the hapless Browns. Sadly, the guy wouldn't even look at me anymore.

Not that I was aware of. I saw Ichiro a few times and each time it was like that. It makes perfect sense actually. Im sure it was like that in most big cities

Do you have a habit of counting the Asians in a place you are at? Maybe it's always like that.

‘I had a sexual relationship with a dolphin’

He flipped for her — and died of a broken heart. Peter the Dolphin was just 6 years old when he fell in love — with a human. The bottlenose dolphin met research assistant Margaret Howe just as the free love movement was emerging in 1965. Howe was supposed to spend 10 weeks teaching Peter English words, but Peter was more focused on getting to know his teacher in a different way.
As he was “sexually coming of age,” Howe said, Peter turned hot for his teacher, and fell in love. Howe and Peter’s star-crossed love story is the focus of a new BBC documentary, “The Girl Who Talked to Dolphins,” set to air next week, according to the Daily Mail.
Howe and Peter did everything together — eating, sleeping, bathing and playing — as part of a NASA experiment that aimed to teach Peter to speak through his blowhole.

The experiment, which plays out like a real-life version of the famous 1973 film “Day of the Dolphin,” had a unique set-up. Dr. John C. Lilly, the experiment’s leader, flooded a sun-drenched remote location in St. Thomas with seawater 22 inches deep. Howe had a desk suspended from the ceiling and a hanging mattress protected by a shower curtain, which Peter loved to splash water at for attention.
Howe’s lessons started immediately, but Peter quickly proved to be a bad boy. She tried hard to get Peter to greet her in the morning by saying, “Hello Margaret,” but he had trouble with the letter “M.” Instead, Peter had something else to greet her with.

About four weeks into the experiment, Howe wrote in her diary: “Peter has become sexually aroused several times during the week.”
“I find that his desires are hindering our relationship,” she wrote. “He jams himself again and again against my legs, circles around me, is inclined to nibble and is generally so excited he cannot control his attitude around me.”

Peter may not have been the only one smitten, though. “That relationship of having to be together sort of turned into really enjoying being together, and wanting to be together, and missing him when he wasn’t there,” Howe admitted. “I did have a very close encounter with — I can’t even say ‘a dolphin’ again — Peter.” In the trailer for the documentary, Howe explains that she would masturbate Peter to keep him focused, otherwise he did not pay attention to her lessons.

“It was just easier to incorporate that and let it happen. It was very precious, it was very gentle. Peter knew I was right there, Peter was right there … again it was sexual on his part, it was not sexual on mine — sensuous perhaps,” she said.
“It would just become part of what was going on, like an itch, just get rid of that, scratch it and we’ll be done and move on.”
After the experiment ended and the lab was closed, Peter was shipped back to Lilly’s lab in Miami and his health quickly deteriorated.
A few weeks later, Peter committed suicide, with veterinarian Andy Williamson ruling his cause of death a broken heart.
“Margaret could rationalize it, but when she left, could Peter?” Williamson said. “Here’s the love of his life gone.”

Ha. Once one gets past the more prurient aspects of the story, one sees that it was all "part of a NASA experiment that aimed to teach Peter to speak through his blowhole." This is why NASA needs your tax dollars. Carl Sagan would approve.

Yes, though he's also admitting he'll gladly drop them like a bad habit if there's Greatness that needs Appreciating. It might be the most perfect thing he's ever said.

5 pages a little over halfway through the show. Take note show thread creators. That is how you do it.

SomeGuy could learn a lot from this.

Great thread.

Ripping on Bernstein, check.
Funny pic of Bernstein, check.
Feigned outrage about displaying a picture of a public figure who displayed the picture to the general public, check.
Greatest arm ever, check.

I'd like to add the Hawk. The first baseball game I ever watched live was in St. Louis. I was very young, and we sat along the first base side. Dawson threw a fucking rope to nail a Cardinal at home that saved the game. Most beautiful throw I've seen to this day.

Hey you long-time trolling knob.....close your eyes, pretend you're not a tool, and post your take on this whole "posting photos of family members" issue after reading this:

Your father, who goes by Bob, lives in Niles. He's a nice man. He loves Chicago sports. One of his joys in life is calling in to this talk show. The hosts of this show see it as good form to make his current lot in life, which is affected by old age and/or something else (dementia etc), show fodder and make an effort to have him on every week to 'review" movies. They see fit to produce recaps of the "highlights" (ie: muttering and stuttering and general confusion), and spend time each week mocking him before he calls....while he is on the phone...and, of course, after he has called.

Now do you still have the same sort of outrage at someone taking a publicly posted picture of Bernstein with his wife, and photoshopping LBJ's face on to that of Dan's wife's face?

If your answer is still yes, congrats on winning Troll Of The Year.

Now that my dad has frontotemporal dementia and can't talk about old movies (a guy who practically consumed Turner Classic Movies intravenously) without sounding like Bob, yeah, fuck their shitty bit and their evolution and their right side of history.
