Today my wife needed a dress for an upcoming wedding.First we ate at IHOP,then I took her to "The Glen" in Glenview. I sat in the car while she shopped and people watched. We came home and I took a huge shit and a nap.

Anybody else been to The Glen?

Really nice little hidden spot.

I'm good for the Yard House about 2x per year.

However I save my Curragh for Edison Park.

The Yard House has some terrific beer selections, but it's a little pricey.

Nice little complex built out of the old Naval Air Station, though.

Been to the Glen. Some of my friends that are Bernsies age 46 going on 64 live out there. They love it. Kinda creeps me out.

BF,
Ha,my daughter just said the same thing. She hates it because of the "Pleasantville" atmosphere. I told my wife it kind of looks like the set for "Desperate Housewives" driving up there. I wouldn't mind living in the area but no way can I afford those inflated prices. You know it's an exclusive area when the Realtor looks like a bitch:

Never been to The Glen, but Ted's Montana Grill has really good burgers.

"Drive Forever, Yogurt Coming Soon" is also the name of one of my top 12 Cambodian adult films.

Why sit in the car when you could've found a spot at a bar in one of those places and watched some sportscenter while nursing an O'Doul's and ogling the waitstaff. Maybe have a couple shots.

My brother and his wife live in The Glen.

Nice neighborhood for people like Bernsie.

for those that live there or go there often, I know they dont see it at all, but it gives me the creeps when I go there.

WTF are you doing eating at IHOP??? You're better than that Jimmy. I will not eat breakfast or any other meal for that matter, at either IHOP or Dennys. I haven't been in either one in 20+ years.

Nobody is better than a restaurant but I agree with you here.

Denny's is just awful all around. They have all the worst versions of breakfast foods. Eggs are terrible, sausage is skinny, hashbrowns are shredded

IHOP used to be decent but last time I went was terrible

And there are still so many (although they are dying off slowly) good greasy spoons out there there's no reason to go these places usually

I like the little local joints. We go to Harners in North Aurora frequently. Best biscuits and gravy around. Unfortunately I don't eat either any more .

Harners bakery is fantastic...but I gave up eating all bakery goods.

Have you ever been to the Monthly Pig roast? Good stuff!

That's Egg Harbor you are referring to. We will charge you three dollars more for a sprig of parsley on your breakfast plate
