What's the excuse for tonight's result?

22pts 5rebs 7asst 5stl 7(!)to -21(+/-)

"led" the team with the worst +/-.

I actually decided to watch this game, and it was shocking to me how Lebron seemed incapable of taking over the game. It reminded me a lot of some of the Karl Malone games vs. Jordan. Malone was a great talent. He was unstoppable and a matchup nightmare. However, he doesn't seem to have the ability to turn it on and basically be the offense.

I felt the same thing about Lebron. On pure talent alone, he can dominate sometimes in the fourth quarter but there is no way the best player in the game can be shut down like that.

Maybe if Lebron hadn't spent so much time practicing rebounds and assists he'd be a better player? No one seems to mention the fact that being a balanced player isn't always a good thing.

It's just a shame Lebron missed another one of those magical 25-5-5 games that are so important!

If Lebron wants to be in the discussion of the greatest ever, he needs to go out in games 5 and 6 and score 40+.

"Some" people made a big deal about it.

LeBron James surpasses MJ for most 25+pts/5+reb/5+ast games in NBA playoff history:

But then:

The cutoffs were set to give LeBron the edge. Make it 30-5-5 games, and Jordan holds the lead. Jordan was arguably better in his 25-5-5 playoff games than LeBron was in his:
•LeBron: 32.2 points, 9.3 rebounds and 7.4 assists
•Jordan: 35.3 points, 7.8 rebounds and 7.5 assists

Well Said

The thing is LeBron CAN take over games and has in the past. For some reason he is gunshy about it though.

And you're right about the balance thing. Dont tell me he made the "correct basketball play" by passing to Donyell Marshall for the game winner. The "correct play" is the one where you win the game

same thing with Garnett in his prime
i think he could have gone out and averaged 30 and 10 if he wanted, but didn't like to bang inside, more concerned with being Magic Johnson

some people just don't have it in them to take a game over

But LeBron does have it in him, he brings it out like once per playoffs.

That Game 5 against the Bulls was a great example. The Cavs Pistons game where he scored 25 of the last 26 points

He looked tired. He's been forced to carry the load all season. Wade has to step up.

I agree with that assessment. I'm not the biggest Lebron James supporter. I believe to a degree that he is overrated. But he has been asked to carry that team. I think 4 seasons of playing in the finals may be catching up with him. Wade is a shell of himself every now and then he'll give you a twenty point game but he doesn't impact games nearly as well as he used to. you don't have to game plan for him anymore

I dont see him post anyone downlow. he is stronger than anyone and never goes for a lowpost past with an easy fade away. MJ learned to do it to make his game easier.
If lebron does it twice a game, its always an attempt to take it to the basket with his RH.

Every pass he makes, he always makes a look away like he just faked out the defender. The defender doesnt give a shit whom you pass it to, just get it out of your hands.

They didnt need Bosh. Could have got 2 really good players for the money they are paying the 7 footer to drive and take pull jumpers. Would have been a better team.

Tonight it was Lebrons stomach.

And he doesnt get the excuse ever with this team to say "Look at what the rest of the team did", nobody can say that on that team. 3 Guys took all the money and the rest just came for a cheap ring.

Leaving games for cramps and diarrhea. This is your poster boy, your hero, your champion, the best ever? Pussification of the NBA. If this turd ever had to face Rick Mahorn he'd roll up into a ball and cry like a two year old.

Remember how Pippen couldn't guard Lebron according to some? I guess San Antonio has multiple players who are better defensively than Pippen.

Yeah they're going to be hard pressed to answer how scoring 5 points in a half when you're the alleged best player like ever and your team is getting blown out is the "right" play.

Stoked to hear more of this in the coming days. When the Heat win, LeBron's an unstoppable, superhuman force of nature. When they lose, it's not LeBron's fault that the superteam he hand-picked isn't giving him more support.
