After game 1, Terry insisted that the Spurs only scored at will in the 4th quarter because James was out. I guess I would ask Terry, wyc? The Spurs last 2 wins have proved Terry was so wrong on this. He needs to realize James can only guard one guy. The Spurs have killed the Heat in all 3 of their wins. So I guess this is another loss for the greatest show ever made. Hopefully Danny continues to get hockey info from little Danny.

King James could afford to smirk at 2-1, but not at 3-1. I'm so excited and I just can't hide it, I'm about to lose control and I think I like it.

Except that Dan can't complete the move to embracing that it is still a team game.

http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2014/06/13/ ... for-bulls/

No, James can't guard everyone at the same time, but he has to guard someone. The move of putting Boris Diaw into the starting lineup is a great team move, that Kawhi Leonard can stay between James and the basket is great individual play. Factor in that Leonard can guard either James or Dwayne Wade and that Wade can't defend Leonard means that the Heat can't field a lineup that can defend all 5 Spurs players, rebound, and score.

In response to his column, this Bulls fan has always appreciated the team oriented Tom Thibodeaux approach as being one that can contend with the Heat. I couldn't fathom the straw man argument he was trying to fabricate:
DB wrote:
On the surface it all looks good to Bulls fans, if bitterly so. The unraveling of Miami’s projected identity of inevitability may satisfy those still smarting over not only the mechanism of their construction that left Chicago holding the bag, but the cold finality of playoff losses at their hands. There is pleasure in their pain, and some may be feeling something even beyond that.

The last time the Bulls competed at full strength against the Heat, experience was heavily on the Heat's side. But that doesn't mean the Bulls couldn't have improved to be able to beat them. Last year's Kawhi Leonard was on the floor, this year's version has become the X-factor as he and his teammates are much more confident in his game.

As to the pleasure/pain aspect of the Heat losing, I believe the number of people with unbridled love/hate for the Heat is a small number. Of those, it is the Miami Heat loving of all things James that are suffering more right now.

P.S. CBS now allows comments for Señor Columnist

So, let me get this straight, all of Lebron's wang-whipping is wiped out over a 2-game stretch?

Well Terry just told Mac to do the right thing like he truly did not want him to go bye bye. Touching.

Danny Mac did say, " it's not goodbye it's just good day." Perhaps Terry gave Danny a call before today's show and told him to be smart during today's show.

Terry just said he isn't surprised they are going to win the series.

After game 1 and game 2 he was acting like the Heat were smashing them and they just got lucky that Lebron got cramps.

Booing defending champs on home court and leaving playoff game early? Right.thing.to.do.

I just find Dan's general perspective on fandom amusing. Any sort of enthusiasm for a team is stupid but shitting on the team is the right thing to do. It's not okay to root for the Bulls because the Heat are unbeatable but its fine to abandon the Heat when they lose to the Spurs, who are now unbeatable. And don't bring up Jordan. Ever. He was a bad guy and he's not better than Lebron because athletes have evolved. Besides, Wilt Chamberlain. What about Wilt Chamberlain? Nothing in particular, just Wilt Chamberlain. That completely invalidates anything you have to say about Jordan.

Chris Tannehill's position as an arbiter of other people's intelligence seems somehow ill-gotten.

I lost the feed about 30 min. in, but in the 10 minutes they discussed the NBA, Terry insinuated that he was injured last night no fewer than 5 times.

dan's commented on numerous occasions that grantland.com is where espn puts all their smart people.... so he's well aware that grantland was a simmons vehicle (even though it seems simmons never contributes there anymore)
